BRIGADA ESKWELA NATIONAL KICK-OFF PROGRAM 2021

RESPONSE TO THE CALL TO ACTION
Dr. Benjamin Diaz Paragas, CESO V
Director IV/Regional Director

Greetings of love from DepEd Region 02!

In whatever form, shape or manner, challenges and changes will always be around, no matter what we do. But the good news is, so are chances to effect change. Every challenge, every change inspires a chance to be better than how we used to be.

As we kick-off this yearโ€™s Brigada Eskwela, DepEd Region 02 joins the whole nation in its joy and jubilation to usher a new academic year, as DepEd implements a modified, revitalized, recalibrated, more refined Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan. We strongly support this bold and compassionate action to ensure our readiness to our duty to serve our stakeholders, especially our learners.

May it allay the fears and worries of our parents and other partners. We always have in mind what is best for your children. We already saw the overwhelming success of the past School Year!

Going on, moving on is what inspired hope. Together, we can do this, and we shall do this, better than ever.

Halinaโ€™t magbayanihan para sa Paaralan!

The commitment of the Provincial Government of Isabela (PGI) to help raise the bar of quality education in the Schools Division of Isabela was once again carried on with the distribution of thousands of educational tablets to the last mile learners in the Division.

A team composed of Governor Rodolfo T. Albano III, Vice-Governor Faustino G. Dy III, Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) Members, along with the top management officials of SDO-Isabela headed by OIC-Schools Division Superintendent Madelyn L. Macalling, led the delivery of the tablets to the 10 municipalities in the province with last mile schools.

FROM EAST TO WEST

Alongside LPGMA Partylist Representative Allan U. Ty and Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) Members Ed Chrisopher S. Go and Abegail V. Sable, the group first visited Benito Soliven District to personally hand over the 95 educational tablets to the parents of the beneficiaries on May 3.

Gov. Albano, in his message, assured the parents and the SDO-Isabela family that PGI will actively take part in addressing the concerns of the Department of Education (DepEd).

For his part, V-Gov. Dy said that the distribution is one of PGIโ€™s projects to provide equal learning opportunities for the last mile learners.

Meanwhile, the team also made a stopover at Quezon National High School on May 7 to distribute 56 tablets to the learners of Quezon District during the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) where they were accompanied by than no less than DOLE Secretary Silvestre H. Bello.

According to Sec. Bello, both the national and the local governments are bent on introducing and backing DepEd programs and projects that promote the welfare of the Filipino learners.

GOING NORTH, FINISHING SOUTH

The group then headed north on May 27 to give out more than a thousand tablets to the last mile schools in the districts of Tumauini, Cabagan, San Pablo, Santo Tomas, and Santa Maria.

SP Delfinito Emmanuel โ€œMMโ€ Albano, who represented PGI during the activity, said that he will take charge of the provision of sim cards for the beneficiaries in the legislative district (LD) 1 to ensure that the learners will be able maximize the use of their educational tablets aside from his pledge to support the learning initiatives of the visited schools as he conducted initial assessments on their needs.

The team ended the distribution on May 28 at the southernmost parts of the province where they turned over a total of 254 educational tablets to the 11 last mile schools in San Agustin, Jones, and Cordon Districts.

PGI representatives, SP Sable, who chairs the Committee on Education, and SP Clifford Raspado, also vowed assistance to the schools in LD 4 to guarantee their provision of quality and excellent service delivery amid the pandemic.

WALKING AN EXTRA MILE

In her message, OIC-SDS Macalling said that these tablets are a solid testament to the commitment of the leaders of the provincial government to help bring the quality of Isabeleรฑo education on higher grounds.

She added that PGI has โ€˜walked the extra mileโ€™ with SDO-Isabela to facilitate the Divisionโ€™s smooth transition to the new normal in basic education by pouring resources to strengthen the different learning initiatives of the Division.

The distribution of educational tablets to the last mile schools in SDO-Isabela is part of the program of PGI in ensuring the successful implementation of the Division's Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan.
