Manila Indios Bravos - Manila Load Manna Knights won the Season 4 All Filipino Conference of Professional Chess Association of the Philippines (PCAP). On the first set Manila won 11-10 against Toledo, so close that Toledo got the rapid score of 8-6! In the second set, Manila sn**ch same blitz points 5-2 and on the rapid 3 titled players of Manila were able to sealed the 6 points victory key by FM David Elorta, IM Paulo Bersamina and NM Daryl Samantilla! Toledo team settled for 1st runner-up.

On the battle for third: Camarines Soaring Eagles beat San Juan Predators and sealed the 2nd runner-up!

All teams of the last top 4 will receive trophies in the opening ceremony of the Wesley So cup 2nd conference and awarding ceremony of All Filipino Conference that will start later part of this year.

Format of matches:

Let us set DAVAO vs TACLOBAN as a SAMPLE MATCH

There will be two sets of matches (Blitz & Rapid)
1 points for a win in Blitz games
3 mins + 2 secs increment
2 points for a win in Rapid games (1 point for a draw)
15 minutes, no increment

There are 7 playing boards (21 points for perfect score)

If first match ties 10.5 - 10.5 , (DAVAO 10.5 - 10.5 TACLOBAN)
Armageddon will be played right away to determine the team winner (DAVAO 2 - 1 TACLOBAN)

If second match ties 10.5 - 10.5, (TACLOBAN 10.5 - 10.5 DAVAO)
Armageddon will be played right away to determine the team winner (TACLOBAN 2 - 1 DAVAO)

FIRST MATCH WON BY DAVAO = 1
SECOND MATCH WON BY TACLOBAN = 1
CONCLUSION = TIE

Then, third (final) Armageddon must be played!
Armageddon time control: white 5 minutes v black 4 minutes
White must win, Black draw = win

A draw of black color player against white color player, in (all) Armageddon game is equivalent to a win (1 point): only 3 players for each team will play.

Ipinasok na sa World Chess Hall of Fame (WCHOF) ang Filipino chess Grandmaster na si Eugene Torre.

Si Torre ang 1st Asian na nabigyan ng titulong Grandmaster noong 1974, sa edad na 22. Kinonsidera siyang pinaka-magaling na chess player sa Pilipinas noong 1980s hanggang 1990s.

Ilan sa kaniyang mga napanalunang torneyo ay ang 1969 World Junior Chess Championship, 1972 Asian Zonal Championships, 1977 Asian Chess Team Championships at naging parte ng 1984 Rest of the World Team laban sa USSR.

Another Pinoy GM soon! ♟🇵🇭

Hindi lang kampeonato sa Hanoi GM3 Chess Tournament ang naiuwi ni IM Daniel Quizon dahil siya ngayon ay nakatapos na ng kanyang GM norm o ang mga nakatakdang laban bago magawaran na Grand Master ang isang manlalaro ng chess.

Hinihintay na lang rin ng 20-year old at 2x National Champion ang rating na 2500 para sa kanyang actual na GM title. Sa ngayon ay 2460.6 live rating na ang nakuha ni IM Daniel at idadagdag dito ang 19.3pts na nakuha niya sa tournament.

Congratulations sa ating pinakabagong Chess GM!
