Box jellyfish, one of the World's most venomous creatures stung a 5-year-old child at All Hands Beach Resort in Subic Bay.
This was not the first time that a jellyfish sting happened in the resort, however, they were still not ready for life-threatening incidents.
The parents of the victim will sue All Hands Beach Resort in a moment's notice.

Low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific is looking to grow its fleet by between 100 and 150 aircraft with jets from Airbus or Boeing, with the order being valued at $12 billion or roughly PHP 1.4 trillion at list prices.
The budget carrier is now poised to have the largest air fleet in the Philippines.

The Philippine Air Force is looking to create a new base on the site of Subic Bay International Airport (SBIA) to increase its aerial surveillance and power projection capabilities in the West Philippine Sea.
The Forward Operating Base (FOB) will house the Air Force's combat aircrafts, missile facilities, an air defense alert building, search and rescue and other equipment.
The proposed base development plan is just right across the Philippine Navy's Naval Operating Base Subic.

The former Hanjin shipyard in Subic Bay, now owned by Cerberus, has a new tenant which happens to be the Philippine Navy's top supplier of warships and other surface vessels.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said he envisions a new era of ship-building in the country following the announcement of the partnership between South Korean conglomerate HD Hyundai and American investment firm Cerberus to invest in the Freeport.

Accor International Group affiliates, Ibis Styles and Mercure Hotels will be operating a PHP16-Billion world-class integrated leisure and convention center in Subic Bay, which will be the very first integrated resort casino and hotel complex in the Freeport.
Ibis Styles Subic will offer 175 rooms and will feature amenities such as a swimming pool, meeting space, and a gym. Located adjacent to Ibis Styles, Mercure Subic is also set to open in 2026, will offer 250 rooms and be the second internationally branded hotel in the area.
A world-class integrated leisure and convention center will be constructed in progressive phases, encompassing a six-hectare property that will feature an integrated resort casino complex and five-star resort hotels.
This is the decade's largest project in the Freeport.

One of the world's largest floating bookstores will arrive in Subic Bay on February 11th. Doulos Hope, a sistership of Logos Hope which frequently visited the Freeport a few years back, will make a port call for about a month next week.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed and sworn in Eduardo Aliño as the new administrator of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority.
Aliño, chairman of the Subic Bay Yacht Club and head of the S.T.A.R. Group of Companies, replaced Jonathan Tan, who is now undersecretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
The businessman is also the president and chairman of Subic Bay Freeport Grain Terminal Services, Inc. and Mega Equipment International Corp., among other posts.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. led the turnover of 141 units of wheeled excavators amounting to PhP776 million to the field offices of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) in Olongapo City inside the Subic Bay Freeport Zone's NSD Compound in Zambales, where he underscored the importance of irrigation in establishing a steadier food supply and agricultural products for the country.

After last night's gigantic earthquake that struck Mindanao. Terrorists lobbed an explosive that killed at least four people and injured 45 others in Marawi City. The explosion occurred during a Sunday mass session. Special forces have been deployed.

It was in 2016 when Subic Bay last welcomed the new year with a fireworks display that's synchronized with music. It returns this year with the Freeport welcoming 2024 with a spectacular grand pyromusical display. Fireworks will also be held on November 8, 2023 during Subic Bay's Christmas tree lighting ceremony and on Christmas Day at the Boardwalk Events Center.

The "Blue Dream Star" cruise ship departed Xiamen Port and arrived at Subic Bay Freeport today. It is the Freeport's first cruise visit since the pandemic, and the first cruise ship to dock at a different port in the bay area as Alava Wharf's structure deteriorates.

Breaking News: Three Filipino fishermen from Subic, Zambales, died after their boat was rammed by a still-unidentified foreign commercial vessel inside the West Philippine Sea, the Philippine Coast Guard said on Wednesday.
11 other survivors were rescued, all are also from Subic, Zambales.

A U.S. Navy P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft flies low and encircled China Coast Guard vessels trying to block ships of the Philippine Coast Guard and the chartered supply boats for the B.R.P. Sierra Madre in Ayungin Shoal at the West Philippine Sea on August 22.

China Coast Guard once again tries to block a Philippine Coast Guard vessel trying to deliver supplies to a Philippine Navy outpost in Ayungin Shoal, this time by irresponsibly conducting even more dangerous maneuvers and recklessly firing its water cannons.
This recent incident in the West Philippine Sea proves the call of other government officials that diplomatic or official visits to Beijing do nothing for the Philippines.

A body confirmed to be the missing teenager from Olongapo City was found and recovered by the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority at the Freeport’s boardwalk area near the Agency’s headquarters.

French manufacturer Naval Group will help the Philippine Navy develop its Naval Operating Base in Subic Bay at the former Hanjin Shipyard into a modern facility capable of handling submarine operations if it bags the contract for the Navy's Submarine Acquisition Project.
This includes proposals for docks capable of handling more than two submarines and surface ships, operation zones for a naval squadron command center, maintenance yards and logistics depots, and the Philippine Submarine Force Training Center that includes classrooms and simulators.
Earlier this year, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. showed strong support in acquiring the country's first combat-capable submarines. Mr. Marcos also told the media that the Navy is currently developing its anti-submarine capabilities before acquiring sophisticated underwater ships.

HD Hyundai (Hyundai Heavy Industries) confirmed that it plans to setup a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul facility at Agila Subic Shipyard (formerly Hanjin Subic). Preparations for finalizing the project are currently underway.
Having the facility in a strategic location will push maritime agencies, not only the Philippine Navy, to consider building ships with the Korean shipbuilder. The facility is also expected to have a high-volume of employment for Filipino workers.
HD Hyundai built and is currently building major surface combatants for the Philippine Navy. The facility will sustain its current and future vessels: two Jose Rizal-class frigates, two multi-purpose corvettes and six offshore patrol vessels.

Subic Bay is currently in the process of getting 10 electric buses to kick-start the Freeport's first public transportation system.
“Our nightlife here needs reviving since most of the restos and bars close early because of the lack of available transportation after 9 pm. Yes, we do have taxis, but for a simple employee of a restaurant or bar, taking the cab everyday would certainly hurt his or her income,” Jonathan D. Tan said in a statement via Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority.

Cruise ships are making a comeback to Subic Bay next year, an official revealed on Wednesday. It was about four years ago since the Freeport had its last cruise visit when the MV “Spectrum of the Seas” from Royal Caribbean International, made its visit before the pandemic.
In March 2024, the company’s MV “Serenade of the Seas” will embark on a 16-night sail to Australia and South East Asia having Subic Bay its destination for the second week of its trip.

The Department of National Defense which has the oversight of the Philippine military, had been headed by multiple people as officer-in-charge in the past months under the Marcos administration.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. have officially appointed Jonathan D. Tan who will serve as the Chairman and Administrator of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority for 6-year term.
Mr. Tan was born in Pandan, Antique, a municipality located in Western Visayas about 600 miles south of Subic Bay. He is a Filipino businessman and a politician who served as the municipality's mayor for nine years from 2010 to 2019. In 2012, he was also recognized as one of the Philippines' Most Outstanding Mayors.

Units from the United States military assigned to the annual 'Balikatan' military exercises with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (A.F.P.) have arrived at the Subic Bay International Airport and the Port of Subic.
This year's iteration of 'Balikatan' will be its largest.

Citing President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s freedom to decide, Rolen Paulino Sr. on March 31, 2023, officially resigned from the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (S.B.M.A.), a little over a year after he became the agency's chief.
The Subic Bay Times received information from its sources regarding who will replace Mr. Paulino, who's name and information will be kept unrevealed until he is formally put into position.

Subic Bay was tagged as a “priority” site for infrastructure projects aimed at “supporting economic growth” in the Philippines, diplomats and defense officials of the Philippines and the U.S. said in a meeting last week, which tackled security cooperation and issues related to the South China Sea.
The former U.S. naval base, which became a freeport and special economic zone after the Philippine Senate voted in 1991 to reject U.S. bases in the country, has recently been visited by U.S. officials, beginning with Ambassador MaryKay Carlson in November last year and Lindsey Ford of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) last week.
