Over P138k worth of shabu seized from 7 arrested suspects

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City ---- Combined elements of PNP Caraga and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)13 seized P138,040.00 worth of shabu from seven suspects who were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations on October 18.

PNP Caraga director PBGEN KIRBY JOHN B KRAFT disclosed that alias Bertal, alias Naldo, alias Lau, alias Mike, and alias Imal, were arrested by PDEA13, Butuan City Police Office Intelligence Unit, and Butuan City Police Station 2 Drug Enforcement Unit in Barangay Port Poyohon, Butuan City.

Operatives seized 15 grams of shabu with a standard drug price of P102,000.00 during the implementation of a search warrant issued by the RTC, 10th Judicial Region, Branch 3, Butuan City.

On the other hand, personnel of Tandag City Police Station implemented the search warrant, which led to the arrest of a street-level individual identified as alias Dingdong while the joint force of Trento Municipal Police Station and PDEA-Agusan del Sur conducted a buy-bust operation, leading to the arrest of alias Boknoy. Both suspects yielded a total of 5.3 grams of shabu worth P36,040.00.

“Arrested persons shall face charges for violation of RA No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. We have launched a more aggressive anti-drug campaign regionwide to ensure that drug peddlers and users have nowhere to hide,” RD KRAFT added.

Over P382K worth of hot lumber seized in Surigao City, 3 suspects arrested

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City ---- Joint anti-illegal logging operations of the Regional Intelligence Division 13 and Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office led to the arrest of three violators and the confiscation of P382,401.456 worth of undocumented lumber in Surigao City, Surigao del Norte on Thursday, October 19.

Acting on a report from a concerned citizen, operatives flagged down a wing van truck loaded with 3,814.6 board feet of lauan lumber worth P220,459.0559 in Barangay Taft.

Later that day, in the same place, the joint operatives also intercepted another wing van truck loaded with 3,814.6 board feet of yakal lumber worth P161,942.40.

The two drivers identified as alias “Ken” and alias “Ben”, and an assistant, alias “Man” were arrested after failing to present legal documents. They will face charges for violating PD No. 705 or the Forestry Reform Code of the Philippines.

“May these accomplishments send a clear message against those who abuse and destroy our natural resources. Together with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, we are closely monitoring such illegal activities,” PBGEN KIRBY JOHN B KRAFT, Police Regional Office (PRO)13 director emphasized.

Man charged for killing nephews in Agusan del Sur nabbed after 7 years in hiding

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City -------- Joint operatives of PNP Caraga
and Davao del Norte collared Caraga Region’s top 5 most wanted person with two counts of murder during the law enforcement operation yesterday, October 20 in Davao del Norte.

Loreto P. Necicito, 45 years old, was arrested in his residence in Brgy. Salvacion, Santo Tomas, Davao del Norte after he went into hiding for seven years following the issuance of warrant of arrest by the Regional Trial Court, 10th Judicial Region, Branch 7, Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur without recommended bail bond.

The operation was carried out by 2nd Agusan del Sur Provincial Mobile Force Company, Agusan del Sur Provincial Intelligence Unit, Santo Tomas Municipal Police Station (MPS), Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU)13, Provincial Intelligence Team of Davao del Norte, RIU11, Provincial Action Force Eastern Mindanao, and Naval Intelligence Security Group- Eastern Mindanao.

Investigation revealed that under the influence of an intoxicating liquor, the suspect hacked and then shot his two victims using a caliber .357 revolver on January 1, 2016, in Brgy. Odiong, Esperanza, Agusan del Sur.

“We were able to capture the suspect through intelligence monitoring and inter-unit coordination. We hope to give justice to the victims of this heinous crime,” RD KRAFT said.

P68K worth of ‘shabu’ seized, 3 suspects arrested in drug op

Camp Col Rafael C. Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City ---- Continuous partnership of Police Regional Office (PRO)13 and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) against the illegal drug trade led to the confiscation of P68,000.00 worth of shabu and arrest of three drug suspects in Brgy. Patin-ay, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur, yesterday, October 21.

PBGEN KIRBY JOHN B KRAFT, PRO13 director, divulged that the elements of Prosperidad Municipal Police Station, PDEA Agusan del Sur, PDEA Surigao del Sur, and Agusan del Sur Provincial Intelligence Unit (ADS-PIU) arrested alias "Loting/Lotlot", 26 years old, female, a high-value target, and a resident of Prosperidad, ADS; alias “Tain”, 40 years old, male, and a resident of Villa Kananga, Butuan City; and alias “MJ”, 24 years old, female, and a resident of Prosperidad, ADS.

During the buy-bust operation, the suspects yielded three pieces of heat sealed plastic sachets containing around 10 grams of suspected shabu and other drug paraphernalia to a poseur buyer.

They will be charged with violation of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

“PNP Caraga will go after with these illegal drug traders and put them behind bars for destroying the lives of some individuals through substance abuse,” RD KRAFT stated.

Suspects and confiscated items are now in the custody of Prosperidad MPS for proper disposition.

PNP Caraga, DepEd, CHED, sign MOU to prevent crimes, CTG recruitment in schools

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City -------- To prevent crimes and recruitment by the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) among students from all levels of learning institutions in the region, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by the PNP Caraga, Department of Education, and Commission on Higher Education today, October 23.

Part of the MOU is the creation of the Student Crime Prevention Committee, composed of the Supreme Student Council (SSC) president as the chairperson, the SSC vice president as the vice chairperson, presidents or vice presidents of high school, senior high school, and all courses at the college level as members of the committee, and the secretary of the SSC.

Meanwhile, a Board of Advisers shall be created with the school head as chairman, the chief of police as vice chairperson, the SSC adviser, the punong barangay where the school is located, the PTA or PTCA president, and a representative of the interfaith sector to be designated by the school head.

Based on the MOU, PRO13 can conduct lectures or seminar workshops on crime prevention and criminal justice, counter-terrorism awareness, drug awareness, and community involvement to be held at school campuses.

Under the “Pulis Ko, Teacher Ko” Program of the PNP, police officers who are licensed teachers will guide the students to enhance their moral foundation and strengthen resistance to CTG recruitment activities and other crimes.

“We need to protect our students, as they are the most vulnerable sector targeted by the CTG for recruitment. We have a solemn responsibility to protect and guide them away from the clutches of such organizations and ensure they have the opportunity to grow in a safe environment,” RD KRAFT added.

Caraga’s top cop leads blessing, turn-over of newly issued equipment, mobility assets

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City ---- Under the 2023 PNP Capability Enhancement Program, PBGEN KIRBY JOHN B KRAFT, Police Regional Office (PRO)13 director, led the blessing and turn-over of the newly issued mobility assets and equipment held here today, October 23.

PRO13 had nine personnel carriers, one patrol jeep single cab, 171 units of undershirt vests, 57 units of enhanced combat helmets, 57 units of tactical vests, 267 units of raincoats, and 50 units of caliber 5.56 Emtan rifles.

The patrol cars were distributed to the Regional Mobile Force Battalion, Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Office (PPO), Santiago Municipal Police Station (MPS), Agusan del Sur PPO, three Provincial Mobile Force Companies, San Francisco MPS, San Luis MPS, Talocogon MPS, Surigao del Norte PPO, Surigao del Sur PPO, Bislig MPS, and Tagbina MPS.

Meanwhile, the fi****ms and other equipment were given to high-risk stations and personnel, especially those in insurgency-affected areas in the region.

“These assets would capacitate our police units to become more efficient and effective in the conduct of law enforcement functions, police operations, and other crime prevention and solution initiatives,” RD KRAFT concluded.

The Regional Pastoral Officer, PMAJ LORENZO R RUGA, officiated the blessing in the presence of the PRO13 command group and other guests.

Betos group member yields to Caraga Police

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City ----- Through the joint efforts of the operatives of the Regional Intelligence Division and Surigao del Sur police force, an alleged member of the notorious Betos Group surrendered on Monday, October 23, in the municipality of Barobo, Surigao del Sur.

PBGEN KIRBY JOHN B KRAFT, PNP Caraga director, confirmed the surrender of alias “Yonon” in Barangay Poblacion.

Listed as a Criminal Gang and Potential Private Armed Group (PAG) in the Caraga region, the Betos gang operated in the provinces of Surigao del Sur and Agusan del Sur and was notorious for heinous crimes such as gun-for-hires, armed robberies, illegal drugs, illegal gamblings and extortion.

“We are now processing the surrender of alias “Yonon” and tracking his involvement in the commission of crimes. Meanwhile, we are continuously monitoring the movement of the two remaining members who remain at large so that they will never cause harm in the community,” RD KRAFT added.
