𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲 “𝗧𝗮𝗺-𝗮𝗻” 𝗧𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘀, 𝗦𝗿. 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗸𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗶𝗺, 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 “𝗳𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗿𝘀.”

“Nu sinoman ti nagaramid [iti] daytoy comics is the father of all liars. Kailangan talaga nga i-protesta tayo daytoy nga kasinungalingan because… siyempre, daytoy ti ehemplo dagiti ubbing, the next generation nga kastoy gayam nga uray saan nga agpayso, basta ag-ar-aramidka laeng iti komiks,” Vice Governor Tomas said during his radio program today.

The libelous comics which is openly distributed by his political opponent even inside the capitol building does not only contain blatantly false claims against the vice governor, but is also discriminatory as it encourages people to hate certain communities of indigenous peoples.

“𝗗𝗶𝘆𝗮𝘆 𝗸𝘂𝗻𝗸𝘂𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗻𝗴𝗮 ‘𝗚𝗼 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲, 𝗧𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘀’ 𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝗻𝗶 𝗧𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗶 𝗽𝗮𝗸𝗮-𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗮 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘁𝗼𝘆. 𝗡𝘂 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗶 𝘁𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝗱𝗮𝗱𝗱𝘂𝗺𝗮 𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝘂𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝗻𝗶 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗲, 𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗸𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗼𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝘁 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗶 𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮. 𝗦𝗼, 𝗻𝗼 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. 𝗜𝘀𝘂 𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝗻𝘂 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮𝘆𝗼 𝗶𝘁𝗶 𝘁𝘂𝗺𝘂𝗴𝗮𝘄 𝗮𝘀 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗿, 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝘁𝗶 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗸𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗱. 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲-𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝘆𝗼 𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻 𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗼 𝗩𝗶𝘇𝗰𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗼,” he added.

In order to refute the claims in the comics strip, Mr. Rogelio Buhle, former internal auditor of Tam-an Banaue Multipurpose Cooperative and resident of Diadi, Nueva Vizcaya executed an affidavit detailing why the accusations are obviously false.

Among many others, Mr. Buhle debunked the false claims in the comics that Vice Governor Tomas instigated the murder of Pedro Hangdaan, former owner of the then Banaue Resort.

“I can state for the record that Mr. Jose Tomas Sr. was not among the suspects in the murder of Pedro Hangdaan. In fact, they were friends,” Mr. Buhle said in his affidavit.

Vice Governor Tomas also added that contrary to the claims that former BOD member of Tam-an BMPC, Fr. Ferdinand Lopez went missing, he is very much alive and has been devoting his life to serving God.

“Timmawag ni Fr. Lopez nga tuktukuyenda idiay comics. Kunana, ‘We find time to meet and we have coffee together,’” he said.

The vice governor also encouraged everyone to say #𝗡𝗢𝘁𝗼𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗖𝗥𝗜𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 and #𝗡𝗢𝘁𝗼𝗙𝗔𝗞𝗘𝗻𝗲𝘄𝘀.

Vice Governor Jose “Tam-an” Tomas, Sr. led the oath-taking of five (5) Sangguniang Panlalawigan employees after signing their appointment papers; three (3) officers were promoted, and two (2) were appointed as the new employees of the provincial government, earlier today, April 30, 2021, at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Session Hall. PHRMO Dr. Carla Lucia Torralba was also present at the oath-taking ceremony.

Some of them were workers who have been with the provincial government for around 10 years or longer but were only employed on short-term contracts that prevented them from receiving full benefits accorded to permanent employees.
