Besides the team’s defensive woes, and lackluster (but slowly improving) second unit, they are currently above 0.500 for the season. The Dubs may turn their season around as Klay’s shots start to fall, and Steph continues his hot streak. Scary hours.

At the young age of 23, Abarrientos has been given the keys to run KBL’s current third-best offense. With the way he is performing right now, he looks like a KBL superstar in the making.

Chimaev Outlasts Burns in an Absolute Welterweight Classic
Khamzat Chimaev passed the biggest test of career as he outlasted No. 2 ranked contender, Gilbert Burns in a close unanimous decision call.
The Chechen-born Swede showcased his improved stand-up game early as he connected a vicious right hand that hurt Burns. With Chimaev winning the opening frame, it seemed that he had the fight under control. However, second round saw Burns maintain his composure and withstand powerful shots and takedown attempts from Chimaev. Midway through the second round, the Brazilian landed a massive counter hook that have seemed wobble his Swedish counterpart. The final round saw both fighters exhausted with blood dripping down their faces. Despite this, both fighters traded big bombs that turned the fight in an absolute welterweight classic.
Chimaev proved that his hype is not a fluke. With the victory, the Swedish has asserted himself in a great position to be the next in line at pound-for-pound king Kamaru Usman’s belt.

Adept finisher, flashes of a floater and mid-range game, plus good form on catch and shoots, Didat Hanapi made the most of his opportunities vs NU Bulldogs as he achieved a True Shooting Percentage of 88.34%.
If he will maintain this level of play, the wing will be a scary prospect moving forward.

Chot Reyes has been named as the Head Coach of Gilas Pilipinas after Tab Baldwin stepped down as the head coach and program director due to his focus of responsibility for the Ateneo Blue Eagles this upcoming University Athletic Association of the Philippines season.
Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas chairman emeritus Manny V. Pangilinan and president Al Panlilio have voiced out their support for Chot Reyes.
“Chot is the sensible choice to take over Gilas coaching because he is very familiar with the program,” said Pangilinan. “He also has solid experience in international competition and FIBA games.” he added.
“Considering the high-level performance expected of Gilas, we decided to go with the coach who brought the country back to the FIBA World Cup in 2014,” said Panlilio.
Chot Reyes, upon the recommendation of Tab Baldwin, is a welcome return to Gilas. Chot Reyes was the mastermind behind Gilas' first ever World Cup appearance in 2014, championship finish in the 2012 William Jones Cup, and silver medal finish in the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship.
As a PBA head coach, Chot Reyes already has nine PBA championships and five PBA coach of the year awards.

Canelo makes history by becoming the first undisputed super middleweight champion
Canelo Alvarez proved once again why he is the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. The Mexican superstar put on a show after a sensational 11th- round TKO victory against IBF super middleweight champ Caleb Plant.
The fight started with Alvarez applying pressure early and utilizing his aggresive counterpunching to try and close the gap. Plant tried to neutralize Canelo’s ferocious hooks by using jabs and controling the distance. The early rounds saw Canelo winning while the middle parts saw Plant gaining some momentum and stealing a couple of rounds. However, the latter part of the fight was a completely different story. In the 11th round, Alvarez landed his signature left hook and threw a couple of vicious combinations that sent Plant to the canvas en route to a sensational TKO victory.
With the victory and achieving a historical feat, the question now is what’s next for the Mexican superstar? A trilogy fight with Gennady Golovkin? Defend super middleweight belts against top conteder David Benavidez? Or maybe move up in weight and fight knockout artist Artur Beterbiev? Regardless of who Canelo fights next, he has surely cemented his legacy as the face of boxing post-Pacquiao/ Mayweather era.

BREAKDOWN - Josh Giddey (2021 NBA Draft Pick 6) 🏀 Lob pass to Favors 🏀 Bounce pass to Williams 🏀 Aggressive drive opens up the lane for Favors 🏀 Played the Pick and Roll perfectly against Reeves and Dwight 🏀 Fake pass for the open 3 🏀 Uses his hip to finish with contact against Avery Bradley (a great defender) 🏀 Smart movement leads to a Favors dunk Just turned 19 last October 10, the Australian has proven his doubters wrong with an incredible start to the season. At such a young age, Giddey has shown maturity and IQ which can be attributed to him being exposed to much older competition at such a young age. Great PnR reads, smart movement and court awareness, the Lakers game is a perfect example to showcase just what Giddey can do. If he becomes a good enough defender and developed his shot creation and consistent scoring, then the Thunder may have found their next franchise player.
FILIPINO PRIDE 🇵🇭 For the first time in NBA history, Jordan Clarkson and Jalen Green become the first two players of Filipino descent to share the court together. The Rockets are celebrating Filipino Heritage Night during the duel of the two Filipino-Americans.
The Lakers' 15th man Austin Reaves has shown that he deserves the roster spot for the LA Lakers. The guy once scored 41 in an NCAA game for the Oklahoma Sooners. Watch out for Reaves this season 👀
Harrison Barnes shoots over Booker for the GAME-WINNING 3-pointer! BREAKDOWN - Evan Mobley (2021 NBA Draft Pick 3) 🏀 Staying in front of guards and wings (PG, Reggie, Terrence Mann) 🏀 Great defensive rotations (forces some steals and blocks) 🏀 Great PnR defense (able to defend between the ball handler and the roll man) Evan Mobley having this type of defensive awareness, IQ and skill is scary. At such a young age, you can already see that he is a slight positive on the defensive end. If he continues to polish his offensive game combined with his development on the defensive end throughout the season, he will be a problem in the future. Evan Mobley's stats across five games PPG: 13.8 RPG: 8.6 APG: 2.2 SPG: 1.2 BPG: 2.0 (Team-High)
