THE yuletide season is already here in Tarlac province as Governor Susan Yap, Congressman Christian Tell Yap, together with other provincial officials led the lighting of the Belen and the Christmas lightings and decorations at historic Maria Cristina Park and at the faรงade of the capitol building, evening of November 4.
The lighting, witnessed by a jam-packed crowd, was also the judging of the 8th Parol Making Contest participated in by the different Tarlac Local Government Units (LGUs) and private entities.
In Gov. Yapโs message, she said that Tarlaqueรฑos can now feel the Christmas season and likewise invited all those who would like to see a different Christmas atmosphere to visit the Maria Christina Park.
โBinuksan na po natin ang makukulay na Christmas lights sa MC Park sa harap ng Kapitolyo! Inaanyayahan po namin kayong makisaya at damhin ang diwa ng Pasko dito sa puso ng Tarlac,โ Gov. Yap, who will seek the mayoralty post of Tarlac city in next yearโs mid-term elections said.

The municipality of Victoria, for the second year in a row was adjudged winner of the Parol Making Contest with the municipalities of Camiling and Concepcion placing second and third respectively.
The parol entry of the municipality of Sta. Ignacia won the Governorโs Choice award. Victoria won a cash prize of P50,000 while Camiling received P40,000 and Concepcion P30,000. Sta. Ignacia also received P30,000. Consolation prize of P15,000 were awarded to all those who participated.
Judges for the contest were interior designer Sonny Fernando, Pampanga Provincial Tourism Officer Michael Castaรฑeda, Pixel Art Productionโs Lexter Tarriela and Tarlac Police Provincial Director PCol. Miguel Guzman.
The competition, themed โMaYap a Pasko,โ saw the participation from 17 municipalities of Tarlac with each showcasing their handcrafted parols, which will be displayed at Maria Cristina Park until the end of the Christmas season.

Meanwhile, Gov. Yap also hosted the "Noche Buena Edition" of Culinaria Tarlaqueรฑo likewise at the Maria Cristina Park. The event featured talented chefs from various municipalities across Tarlac who showcased their local delicacies and offered them to the public for free.
The town of Pura won the Best Booth award.
The chefs who participated in Culinaria Tarlaqueรฑo included Gerald Basilio, Justin Hipolito, Elma Salting, Marvin Dioayan, Mark Philip Ines, Lowell Villamor, Gilbert Galo, Gilbert Teofilo, Maria Lourdes Arboleda, Renz Aaron Dizon, Kathleen Rufino, Leo Lapurga, and Julius Bondoc.โ๐๐ซ๐ฏ๐ข๐ง ๐
