LOOK| The organizers of Project Higala recently paid a courtesy visit to 2LT Juanito Inot (INF) PA, Officer-in-Charge of the 2nd "Matinabangon" Company, 1CMOBn, CMOR, PA, to discuss a promising new partnership focused on enhancing community health and development in the region. This collaboration is particularly targeted at isolated areas of Lanao del Sur, where access to vital services and information is limited. The meeting underscored the importance of building strong, supportive connections between military units and local communities to address pressing challenges.

In addition to improving public health, this partnership also aims to foster greater security and resilience among residents by educating them about the risks posed by Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs) and Local Terrorist Groups (LTGs). By working together, Project Higala and 1CMOBn seek to reinforce peacebuilding efforts, strengthen community ties, and empower local populations to withstand the socio-political challenges they face, ultimately contributing to a safer and more sustainable future for the people of Lanao del Sur.

The project aims to address various social issues and promote sustainable development across Lanao del Sur.

During the meeting, Col Dela Rosa expressed the Brigade’s full support for Project Higala's Health Screening Mission by providing transportation & security for both the organizer, info drive facilitator & beneficiaries.

He also recognized the project’s potential to strengthen community unity and improve the quality of life for residents in the region. The discussion also included the military’s role in educating local communities to prevent recruitment by the CTG and LTG in the communities of Lanao del Sur.

Project Higala, a Community Advocacy Campaign Project, aims to make a significant difference in the lives of many. One of the project’s core advocacy is related to health and the organizers are ensuring they have the right partners in place.

LOOK | The 1st Infantry Tabak Division has officially partnered with Project Higala, an advocacy campaign focused on providing specialized medical services to underserved communities. This initiative aims to address specific health issues by deploying medical specialists directly to areas in need.

Project Higala sof launched on March 22, 2024, with a medical mission led by 12 specialists from the Iligan Medical Society, serving over 120 residents. Unlike typical medical missions, Project Higala prioritizes specialized medical care.

Miss Jam Nueva, Founder of Project Higala along with co-founders Sgt Rene Perocillo and Jerson Lato, met with Major General Gabriel C. Viray III of the 1st Infantry Tabak Division. Major General Viray expressed full support for the initiative, committing two dentists and one specialist for future missions. He also outlined the Division’s plan to identify the right communities to ensure the project’s impact is maximized.

This partnership marks a significant step toward improving healthcare access in underserved communities, highlighting the strength of collaboration between the military and civilian sectors.

Iligan City, Philippines - March 16, 2024 - In partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Iligan, we are proud to announce "Project Higala," a groundbreaking health mission aimed at delivering specialist medical services and free treatments to underserved communities in Iligan City.

Through collaborations with notable institutions such as the City Health Office Iligan, Amai Pakpak Medical Center, Iligan Medical Society, Philippine Dental Association Iligan Chapter, Motivation Philippines, and others, Project Higala is set to make a significant impact on the health of the region.

Project Higala prioritizes specialist care over general practitioners to ensure that residents receive comprehensive and appropriate medical attention. This includes free check-ups, distribution of medicines, and health education programs delivered by dedicated and compassionate professionals.

The official press conference for Project Higala will be held on March 20, and the medical mission will commence in Barangay Digkilaan on March 22-23.

Project Higala Advocates in Barangay Digkilaan, Bringing Vital Medical Services to Underserved Communities

March 22, 2024– As part of its testing phase, Project Higala successfully conducted a soft launch in Barangay Digkilaan. This was made possible through the collaboration of the Iligan City Local Government Unit (LGU) and a coalition of renowned organizations, including the Iligan Medical Society, Iligan City Health Office, Philippine Dental Association Iligan, Motivation Philippines, Office of City Councilor Atty. Marlene Young, ICDRRMO, ICPO, 1002nd CDC, and Western Mindanao Command. The initiative aims to deliver essential medical services to communities in Iligan City that lack access to adequate healthcare, starting with Barangay Digkilaan.

Project Higala's Medical Mission reflects the spirit of unity and compassion, with medical specialists and volunteers coming together to address healthcare needs in underserved areas. Led by 12 doctors from various specialties, over a hundred residents received comprehensive check-ups and essential medications free of charge.
