President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. led the inauguration of the Sorsogon Sports Arena with Senate President Francis "Chiz" Escudero and local officials last October 17 on the province's 50th celebration of the Kasanggayahan festival.
Marcos gave a message about the constant improvements of Sorsogon's assets focusing on its infrastructural growth.
His speech highlighted how the arena is a symbol of undeniable progress and is subject to the continuous effort and development of Sorsoganons and Bicolanos.
โIto ay isang mahalagang hakbang upang maitaguyod natin ang ating mga kababayan na may angking galing sa larangan ng palakasan. Sa tulong nito, mabibigyan sila ng pagkakataon upang mahasa pa ang kanilang mga talento. Tulad din ng mga Olympians natin na lumahok nitong 2024 na Paris Olympics, hangarin natin na sa pamamagitan ng Arena na ito, lalo pang dumami ang mga kababayan natin na magbibigay ng dangal sa ating bansa,โ he said.

Marcos added that the Sports Arena isn't only for sports events but also for meetings, summits, contests, and concerts.
Moreover, the president also commented on the housing projects the Sorsogon government is creating. "Ang Sampaloc tenement ay magsisilbing kanlungan ng ating mga benepisyaryo... na naaayon naman sa ating hangarin na mabigyan ng maayos at ligtas na pabahay ang ating mga kababayan," Marcos said.

The president also toured the newly finished Sorsogon National Government Center (NGC) before the inauguration which he also mentioned in his speech.
He said that the center supports the administration's goal of quick public service and will serve as a "one-stop shop" for government services in the province.
Marcos concluded his speech by saying that he hopes for the support of fellow Filipinos and that with their help, the country could achieve its development goals.
