𝗡𝗜𝗦𝗨-𝗩𝗦𝗖 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗦𝗢 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲

Northern Iloilo State University – Victorino Salcedo Campus hosted a one-day Operational Excellence Workshop on February 4, 2025, at the CHM Hostel Conference Room, focused on aligning core processes and risk management with ISO standards.

The event gathered administrators, quality assurance officers, and risk management experts to define unit objectives and improve operational strategies.Dr. Rizamilla R. Superio and Dr. Mylene B. Estebal led the first session, discussing the strategic alignment of unit objectives with ISO standards.

The morning session continued with a presentation on process efficiency and customer satisfaction, highlighting the importance of identifying interested parties and enhancing core processes. Workshop participants conducted process enhancement planning and shared insights in a plenary session before breaking for lunch.

In the afternoon, Dr. Irene A. Bargo led a session on risk management, guiding attendees in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks within core processes. Participants developed action plans to integrate risk management strategies into their operations, followed by plenary sharing and expert feedback.

The workshop concluded with an awarding ceremony, closing remarks, and a photo opportunity. The workshop provided valuable insights into operational excellence, equipping participants with practical tools to align their processes with ISO requirements.

NISU-VSC hosts BSTM first-ever Pinning Ceremony

Northern Iloilo State University – Victorino Salcedo Sara Campus marked a significant milestone by hosting its inaugural Pinning Ceremony for the Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management program on January 21, 2025.

This event symbolizes the students' transition from academic studies to professional practice in the tourism industry.

Dr. Jimmy F. De Julian Jr., Director of Student Affairs and Services delivered an inspirational message saying, "This pinning ceremony is not just a ritual; it is a symbol of your dedication, resilience, and passion for the tourism and hospital industry."

The ceremony is attended by faculty members of CHM and proud parents. Each student received a pin, representing their dedication and readiness to contribute to the tourism sector.

The Pinning Ceremony is a testament to NISU-VSC's commitment to providing quality education and producing competent professionals equipped to meet the demands of the global tourism industry.

Ngayon ay ika-128 anibersaryo ng pagkamatay ng ating pambansang bayaning si Dr. Jose Rizal. Hindi lang sa araw na ito, kung hindi sana ay sa lahat ng pagkakataon panatilihin nating buhay ang kanyang kadakilaan.
Tayong makabagong henerasyon, bukod tayong pinagpala sapagkat wala sa atin ang nagmana ng mga tanikala.

Masayang maging malaya sa sariling bayan. Subalit nalilimot rin natin paminsan-minsan, na ang kalayaang ating tinatamasa sa kasalukuyan, ay buhay ng maraming bayani ang naging kabayaran.

Batid ng marami sa atin kung sa paanong paraan nakapag-ambag ng kalayaan si Pepe. Malinaw, rin na hindi lang mga dayuhan ang nang-alipin sa atin kung hindi ang sarili nating mga isipan. Ngayong marami na ang naging bukas ang mga isipan, at namulat sa suliranin ng bayan, huwag na tayong pumikit pang muli. Huwag nating hayaang mauwi sa wala ang mga dugong dumanak sa sariling lupa.

LITERARY #3

"Hindi naman talaga nakakapagod mag-aral, ang nakakapagod lang ay ang mahabang biyahe at ang mga aberya sa daan."

Alas kwatro nang umaga, gising ka na. Pagkagising mo, agad kang nagsaing, tapos nagmamadali kang maligo at mag-ayos ng iyong sarili para maabutan ang bus na maagang dumadaan sa inyong lugar. Paunahan pa sa pagsakay dahil marami rin na mga estudyante na kagaya mo ang nag-aabang. Masuwerte ka kung makakasakay ka agad, pero kapag hindi? Aba, malas mo.

"Manong, para po."
"Manong, lampas na po ako!"

Isipin mo, hindi ka pa nga nakakarating sa paaralan pero pagod ka na, at hindi na maipinta ang iyong mukha dahil lumampas ka sa dapat mong babaan. Idagdag mo pa ang ulan, ang traffic, at ang mga aksidente minsan na nagpapatigil at nagpapadagdag sa stress mo. Yun bang hinahabol mo na nga ang oras dahil may quiz kayo, tapos panay pa ang chat ng kaibigan mo sa'yo:

"Hoy bakla, asan ka na? Magsisimula na ang quiz."
"Number one na kami, mag-number two na."
"Bakla, ano na? Asan ka na? Mag-a-attendance na."

Grabe talaga 'yan. Mapapabuntong-hininga ka na lang, tapos medyo mapapaiyak ka pa.

"Kung inaantok kayo at kung matutulog lang naman kayo sa klase ko, mas mabuting lumabas na lang kayo."
"Puro kasi kayo cellphone tuwing gabi. Matutulog na, magce-cellphone pa, hindi iniisip na may pasok pa bukas."

Minsan, may mga g**o na hindi makaintindi sa sitwasyon mo. Yung akala nila, alam na alam nila na nagce-cellphone ka tuwing gabi, pero ang totoo, kumakayod at nagtatrabaho ka upang matustusan ang sarili mo at makapasok sa kanilang mga klase. Mahirap talaga maging estudyante, lalo na kapag sinusuportahan mo pa ang sarili mo sa mga panggastos. Minsan gusto mo na lang sumuko. Minsan mapapaisip ka rin kung bakit nandiyan ka sa kalagayan na 'yan.

Oo, mahirap at nakakapagod talaga ang mahabang biyahe at ang mga nakaka-stress na aberya sa daan. Pero kahit mahirap, sana isipin at ma-realize mo na sa bawat aberya sa daan ay may mga realizations na nagbubukas ng iyong mga mata. Na sa bawat mahabang biyahe, may mga natututunan ka at mayroon kang patutunguhan. Nakakapagod maging estudyante, pero mas nakakapagod kung minsan ay hindi ka naging estudyante. Kaya laban lang! Sa kabila ng mga aberya sa daan, usad lang patungo sa iyong magandang kinabukasan.
