2 MDA journos qualify to RSPC

The 2 Mater Dei Academy (MDA) campus journalists (CJs) qualify to the 2025 Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) by finished Top 3 in the final rounds of the 2025 Provincial Schools Press Conference on January 16, 2025 at San Rafael National Trade School in Caingin, San Rafael, Bulacan.

Francheska Mera Rayo of Grade 11 ABM, who placed 2nd in the pre-final rounds held on January 10, 2025 at Carlos. F. Gonzales High School in Maguinao, San Rafael, Bulacan, bagged 1st place in Pagsulat ng Lathalain Secondary Level.

She was coached by Roxan Erika R. Antaran, LPT.

Zyrenne Ashley Memoracion of Grade 9 STE, who was guided by Hezel Dave Sedeño, LPT and she ranked 5th in the pre-finals, won 2nd place in the Editorial Writing.

Vam Angelo Macaranas of Grade 10 STE grabbed 4th place in Pagsulat ng Artikulong Agham while Karin Gianna Lorraine Valmores of Grade 9 STE won 5th place in Science Writing.

Both won similar ranking in the pre-finals and were coached by Rhealyne A. Garcia, LPT.

Sebastian Luke Casimiro of Grade 12 ABM, coached by Ms. Antaran, placed 7th in the pre-final of Feature Writing, while Yasmin De Leña of Grade 12 STEM, guided by Ms. Garcia, grabbed 10th place in the pre-final of Science Writing.

Duc in Altum bags top plum in Bulacan Private Schools Press Con

Duc In Altum / Inang Diwa Publications of Mater Dei Academy (MDA) won 1st overall in the 2024 Division Press Conference for Private Secondary Schools on December 13, 2024 at Jesus is Lord Colleges Foundation, Inc., Bocaue, Bulacan.

The MDA campus journalists bested 65 other private schools in Bulacan in the maiden edition as 15 students qualified for the 2025 Provincial Schools Press Conference on January 10, 2025, at DRT Highway, San Rafael Bulacan.

Antaran (Feature Writing), Mr. Mel Anthony G. Nalo (Sports Writing), Ms. Rhealyne A. Garcia (Science Writing), Mr. Christian T. Felix (Copyreading), Mr. Alexander Roxas (Editorial Cartooning), Mr. Mark Paul M. Parulan (Column Writing), and Mr. Simon Isaac F. San Diego (Photojournalism).

Radio Broadcasting and Scriptwriting is still on-going.

Duc in Altum is now conducting a screening for Radio Broadcasting and Scriptwriting in Filipino, the first ever in MDA's campus journalism. Interested students may look for Mr. Mark Jerome Cruz and Ms. Hezel Dave Sedeño to qualify as school's representative in the inaugural Bulacan Private Schools Press Conference.

Congratulations, Francheska Mera M. Rayo of Grade 10 STE Queen of All Saints, for bagging 10th place in Pagsulat ng Lathalain of the 2024 Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) on May 22, 2024 at Pampanga High School in San Fernando City, Pampanga.

Bested 50 other participants from different school divisions of Region 3, she was coached by Ms. Roxan Erika R. Antaran, LPT.

Sebastian C. Casimiro (Feature Writing) of Grade 11 ABM Queen of the Universe and Yasmin N. De Leña (Science Writing) of Grade 11 STEM, coached by Ms. Antaran at Ms. Rhealyne A. Garcia, LPT, respectively, also participated in the 2024 RSPC.

Justyn Frederick I. Salayog is a distinguished Mater Dei Academy alumnus. A top graduate in his batch, he showed his leadership by spearheading the very first editorial staff of Duc in Altum Publications as the editor-in-chief. He also joined the editorial writing of 2019 EDDIS 6 Press Conference in Marilao, Bulacan.
Now that he is doing well in UP Baguio, we are confident that he exudes the MDA values of "Talino, Tiyaga, at Pusong Dakila". May we wish him in his new endeavor in unselfishly serving the UPB studentry.

Jose Miguel P. Tinio, a Mater Dei alumnus, is a former Science editor of Duc in Altum Publications in S.Y. 2019-2020. Known as Migs to his friends, he competed in the Science writing category of 2019 EDDIS 6 Secondary Schools Press Conference in Marilao, Bulacan. His passion and dedication as Science editor was shown in sharing his scientific knowledge through journalism. A deserving candidate for a position he is pursuing, the publication is confident in becoming successful in his endeavor.

3 Mater Deian journos bag RSPC slots

The staff members of Mater Dei Academy (MDA) Duc in Altum Publications earned the slots in the 2024 Regional Schools Press Conference.

The Mater Deian journos underwent grueling but exciting 3 rounds in their respective categories and won 1-gold and 2-silver medals in the final rounds of the 2024 Provincial Schools Press Conference (PSPC) held yesterday at the Lydia D. Villangca Trade School in Ulingao, San Rafael, Bulacan.

They qualified in the face-off rounds by barging in to the Top 5 of the PSPC pre-finals held last March 19 at San Miguel National High School in San Miguel, Bulacan. MDA also snatched 10th place in the Best Perfoming Schools in the province of Bulacan.

Mater Dei Academy students showcased their talents in journalism and the school improved its performance from 8th place last year to 3rd place this year, the top-ranked private school, besting 26 other public and private schools in the EDDIS 6 Secondary Schools Press Conference held on March 13, 2024 at AFG Bernardino Memorial Trade School in Lias, Marilao, Bulacan.

14 students qualified to the Division of Bulacan Secondary Schools Press Conference that will be held on March 19, 2024 at San Miguel National High School in San Miguel, Bulacan.
