Scientific terms, scientific formulas, scientific equipment, scientific... scientific... scientific... You seem to find yourself lost between these unfamiliar vocabulary and all of the will to read you had in you, seemed to deflate from the confusion. Fear not, for Science Writing, makes way for you to travel down the lane of Science without using any dictionary, AT ALL!
We've all had our fair share of trying to fit or wrap our heads around scientific terms, isn't it so lovely to just smash all these confusing terms away and replace it with simpler ones, better for everyone to understand, including ourselves as writer?
THAT'S IT! Grip that thought really harshly, if you've felt like that for seconds of time, then you have the spirit of a future Science Writer.
Scientific terms might be efficient for scientists, but generally speaking for people just trying to get by this unruly life, it's not. I've heard this phrase too many times, "Kikita ba ko dyan?" People tend to relate everything to money. Well, why not right? If it will make you read an article that's eventually going to help you one day, we'll find a relevant connection within two different areas. After all, stories are all about people and people are stories.
Perhaps you're preparing for a future Science related course. This writing category is the perfect choice for you. Will I convince you why? Science is a never-ending field of learning. Discoveries don't just stop at a certain peak, as we continue to learn about things, the more deeper the discoveries we find.
It's a privilege to speak to a mass audience. It holds that feeling of fulfilment, whenever people find comfort in your writing because they understand it. Would you dare to stand with the essence of your ideas, by making it simpler for everyone to comprehend?

Scientists like to invent terms to talk to each other efficiently. But for most people it comes off as inefficient. Science Writing offers a seat for all people to understand these scientific terms in a much more... simpler version. Whether it may be a kid, teenager, or adult, a new seat is always offered to put an end to confusion.
Mind-reading
Don't assume that readers think like you. Kind of like mind-reading except it's very scientifically based. They may not see the topic in the same perspective as you do. Maybe they'll see it in a much less complicated way. So start off simple and try not to dump all the information at once. Remember, you're talking to a mass audience not a bunch of walking encyclopedias.
Stories
"Stories are about people, people find out things and that's why there are stories," said Carl Zimmer, an award winning Science Writer. To end this short description , I'll leave a simple sentence that validates the previous idea, "COVID-19 isn't a story, how people suffered and risked their lives because of it, that's a story."
