HURRAH! 💥🎉

The vibrant atmosphere of Pinaglabanan Elementary School Covered Court witnessed the spirited commencement of a 3-day Intramurals at San Juan City Science High School, filling the air with the buzz of JuanScians' excitement. The event unfolded with a captivating opening salvo by the Sports and Dance Enthusiasts, setting the stage for the Mr. and Ms. Intramurals competition. The day also featured the Bench Cheer Competition, with the Grade 10's Mr. & Ms. and Yellow Wolves of Grade 8 cheerers emerging victorious, complemented by an intermission social dance number of 9-Maxwell.

On the second day, the intensity soared as the Men’s Volleyball matches unfolded, resulting in the triumph of the Red Dragons from Grade 9. The Women’s Volleyball battles saw Grade 7 emerging victorious, while Grade 10 Blue Panthers secured their spot in the finals. The day concluded with a mesmerizing social dance performance by 9-Thomson.

The final day unfolded with the much-anticipated basketball games, starting with a clash between Grades 7 and 9, where Grade 9 emerged victorious and secured a spot in the finals. The showdown between Grades 8 and 10 followed, with Grade 10 securing a place in the championship game. In an exhilarating championship basketball match, Grade 9 Red Dragons claimed victory over Grade 10. The festivities continued with an intermission social dance number by 9-Darwin, leading into the volleyball championship games. The Grade 10 Blue Panthers showcased their prowess by securing back-to-back championships in both men's and women's volleyball. The day concluded with an exhibition match between the Blue Panther's Men's Volleyball team and the Teachers Men's Volleyball team. The event wrapped up with an awarding ceremony, recognizing the outstanding performances in various games held throughout the month of February, including e-sports and more.

The 3-day Intramurals proved to be a celebration of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and the vibrant spirit of JuanSci! 🏀🏐🏆

We're already halfway through and yet the nerves can't still be shaken off, can it? We feel you. Your racing thoughts and sweaty palms are all beyond normal. 😪

And yet despite all that, we hope that you will still be able to treat yourself with kindness. Trust that the amount of effort that you've put it in towards this will come back to you multiple times better. 🤞🏻

In the end, no matter what happened, you are still you and nothing less. Let's cast all our worries aside and focus on what's within our control. ☝🏻

Today, we commemorate one of the Philippines’ significant events, the Feast of the Black Nazarene.
Celebrated every January 9th, Traslación serves as a reenactment of the 1787 relocation of the replica image of the Black Nazarene from Intramuros to Quiapo Church.
This celebration is full of symbolic gestures as devotees believe that acts, such as wiping the image, would heal and grant their prayers.

As we stand on the threshold of another year, I’d like to ask: 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶? Close your eyes, breathe in, and take a moment to look back on the past 365 days we’ve traveled together. Give yourself a pat on the back because 𝘐'𝘮 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘥 of both our big and small triumphs. 🏆✊

Sure, things didn’t exactly go our way. I recall we had a long list of goals and not all boxes have been crossed out. But hey, here’s a gentle reminder: 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘴 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨. If it’s meant to happen, it will — at the right time and for the right reasons. Who knows? Perhaps this will finally be our time to shine. 🎊✨

𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐧 | December 29, 2023

𝗘𝗻𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴

Jeepneys are emblematic simply because they are a part of our culture; nonetheless, their traditional structure and inefficient engines add heavily to pollution and traffic congestion. It is said that the adoption of modern jeepneys in Metro Manila will translate to significant reductions in air pollutant emissions, so it must be an advantageous development, right?

The phase-out was intentionally good; however, the options and alternatives provided by the government lacked a solid answer (when did concrete solutions even exist for them? Aren't we all used to it?) to address the needs of Jeepney drivers.

It would be better if the government filed and presented other alternatives, such as locally assisting Jeepney manufacturers to live up to standards. Instead, what do they offer? Purchase those minibuses from cronies. Who gained? Who went for financial ruin? The conflict of interest is crystal clear. That is why a lot of people have grown frustrated with the phase-out.

When the government enacts laws affecting businesses for reasons such as public health and safety, it ought to examine the impact on individuals who operate, such as jeepney drivers. They're running a business, and they should be treated as such. The modernization should not push through. It's been years since this was introduced, but is it enough time for the jeepney drivers to cope with such a big change? 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲?

The problem here is the implementation, not replacing the old, outdated jeepney. The problem was that they had to either comply or say goodbye to what kept them living. 𝗪𝗲 𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲-𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗷𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗻𝗲𝘆𝘀.

As the new year looms ahead of us, it is unfortunate that instead of having a fresh slate to start anew, hopes for a better future are being wiped off the table. Change is inevitable, but robbing people of their livelihood for the sake of it isn't something that we have to do just because we do not have any other options — because we do. 𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗡𝗔𝗡: Pinaningning ng mga mag-aaral, magulang, volunteers, at mga g**o mula sa San Juan City Science High School ang mga 𝙥𝙪𝙨𝙤 ng mga lola sa Little Sisters of the Abandoned Elderly: Sta. Teresa Jornet Home sa Brgy. Tibagan, San Juan City, ngayong araw.

Matatandaang nagkaroon ng 𝗡𝗼𝗻-𝗖𝘂𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗹𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘆, 𝗜𝗻-𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 ang paaralan na sinimulan noong Ika-1 hanggang ika-15 ng Disyembre.

Nagsilbing 𝙢𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙩 𝙣𝙖 𝙩𝙨𝙤𝙠𝙤𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙚 sa malamig na pasko ang programang inihandog ng JuanSci. Ang nasabing bahay-kalinga para sa 81 na Lola ay hindi mapadsidlan ng 𝙩𝙪𝙬𝙖 𝙖𝙩 𝙥𝙖𝙜𝙢𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙣.
