On December 30, we honor our national hero's death anniversary.

He was a man who practiced medicine for the poor, restoring his mother's eyesight and treating countless patients. A polymath who mastered 22 languages, he had so much hope for his country's freedom that he continued to advocate for it even after his ex*****on, which united Filipinos to fight for independence, turning him into a symbol of patriotism.

When you can inspire a country to fight for freedom, master 22 languages, capture women's hearts in every country you go to, and expose the corrupt Spanish colonial rule, they don't just call you the national hero of the Philippines; they call you Dr. Jose Rizal.

𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗜𝗡 | 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐅𝐇𝐒

Parents and Teachers Conference (PTC) for the 2nd quarter were held beforehand for card distribution in each class.

The general assembly was participated by the parents and students'guardians, that was held at West Fairview High School, Wednesday, December 18, 2024.

Ma'am Jasmine Carbonel took the lead and hosted the general assembly- then the Principal, Dr. Reynaldo E. Casing gave his opening remarks, explaining the concept of rules and regulation once again and also reminding everyone about the rules of "DOC R".

The PTC followed once the parents and guardians were inside their student advisory class. The conference objectively focused on explaining student behaviors and academic participation throughout the quarter. They also explained the reasons for the issues of most students in academics to purely let the parents understand the idea

Bonifacio Day is a national regular holiday observed annually on November 30, as declared under Republic Act No. 2946, commemorating the birth anniversary of Andres Bonifacio, the "Father of the Philippine Revolution."

This day serves as a reminder of Bonifacio's unwavering courage and dedication to the pursuit of freedom for the Filipino people. It is a time to reflect on his heroism and to uphold the values of patriotism and unity in our own lives.

Let us honor Bonifacio's legacy by remembering his contributions to our nation's independence and continuing to strive for the ideals he fought for.

LOOK | WFHS conducted Gender Equality and Children’s Rights Awareness Seminar

West Fairview High School hosted a seminar to raise awareness for National Children’s Month 2024. The event was themed “Empowering Future Generations: Celebrating Gender Equality and Children’s Rights” and took place on November 12, 2024, at the WFHS Audio-Visual Room (AVR).

The seminar was attended by both those who were and those not part of the LGBTQ+ students from grades 7 to 10 and ESP department teachers and club officers.

Sir Benedict Arellano, a speaker from Bagong Barrio National High School and also a respective member of the LGBTQ+, shared their insights as they highlighted the importance of self-expression while still abiding by the school’s regulations.

Sharing their knowledge and experience, “It’s okay to be unique,” Sir Benedict added.

Students of West Fairview High School were enthralled as English Month kicked off on Monday, November 4, 2024, with exciting activities lined up for the coming weeks.

In addition, the newly elected English Club officers took pledge in their Oath Taking.

Leading the program, Sir Roberto Bravo gave his opening message to everyone. Followed by Ma’am Ruby Ann Evangelista, along with Sir Cher Kelvin Corpuz, announcing the activities to be held for the month’s celebration. Finally, Ma’am Angeline Tabuada gave her closing remarks thus signing off the program.

Today, November 4, 2024, our Grade 7 students participated in "Bakuna Eskwela", a vital part of the school-based immunization program launched by the Department of Health (DOH) in collaboration with the Department of Education (DepEd). This initiative aims to protect our youth against Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPDs) such as measles, rubella, diphtheria, and human papillomavirus.

Special thanks to Ma’am Marissa Florentino, Ma’am Daisy Mina, and all the dedicated teachers from the ESP Department who facilitated and took charge of this important event. Your efforts in keeping our community healthy are truly appreciated! 💪✨

October is Mental Health Awareness Month, and it is important to recognize that mental health is just as crucial as physical health. As students, we often face pressure from school, family, and social expectations, which can feel overwhelming. It is okay to admit when we are struggling and seek help from friends, teachers, or professionals. Talking about mental health shouldn’t be shameful—sharing our experiences can help others feel less alone.

We should raise awareness this month by being more compassionate to ourselves and others. Small gestures, like listening to a friend or checking in on someone, can make a big difference. Taking care of mental health is a lifelong process, and the earlier we start, the better. Being kind, patient, and understanding toward others can create a more supportive environment for everyone.

Simple tips for better mental health include taking breaks, staying connected with loved ones, practicing mindfulness, getting enough sleep, and seeking help when needed. Let us prioritize our mental well-being and encourage others to do the same.
