The classic piece, known as "The Salt Warrior," draws inspiration from salt, the primary product of Pangasinan. Pangasinan, derived from the root word "Asin," which means a place where salt is made, reflects the region's main livelihood. The costume, crafted from sack flour and adorned with various black and white ornaments, represents the diligent people of Pangasinan. However, it serves a greater purpose beyond mere display. It symbolizes the hardworking and passionate nature of Pangasinenses, who tirelessly produce quality salt and other products under the scorching sun using their pang Kayod (traditional tool) and basket. Noticeably, the shield of the Saltman features four faces, each conveying a different expression, as a sign of respect for our modern heroes, the salt farmers. This warrior costume embodies the resilience, kindness, and considerate nature of every Pangasinense.
The silver-white stain on the costume signifies Pangasinan's thriving economy, while the color black represents the opposite and that is the purity of their hearts to serve its people. In contrast, the crystals, pearls, and beads adorning the classic costume symbolize the brilliance of Pangasinan, standing out like treasures from the beautiful sea. The modernized wide-brimmed hat, called salakot, made of bamboo, wire, and beads, represents the valiant spirit of every Pangasinense, while the cross symbolizes their strong faith. This Filipino heroic costume also reflects the strength of the people in Pangasinan. It serves as a medium to fight for the rights of every saltman in Pangasinan, highlighting the importance of their hard work. The intricate design of the costume represents the complex and preserved nature of Pangasinan.

The winners of Mister International Philippines pageant will represent the country in Mister International, Mister Charm, Mister National Universe and four other international pageants.

Mister International Philippines pageant runs from June 17-29, 2023. Preliminary Competition is scheduled on June 23 at Cagayan Coliseum in Cagayan Province while the Finals is scheduled on June 28, 2023 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater, Newport World Resorts in Parañaque City.
