Oriental Mindoro Strong Volunteers of TROLAB PILIPINAS INC. Host a successful Bloodletting Activity

Gloria, Oriental Mindoro – November 4, 2024 – The Oriental Mindoro Strong Volunteers of TROLAB PILIPINAS INC. NGO successfully conducted a bloodletting activity on November 3, 2024, in partnership with the Oriental Mindoro Blood Council (OMBC). The event, held at Brgy. Maligaya, Gloria, Oriental Mindoro, saw over one hundred generous donors contribute to a vital cause.

The bloodletting activity was held in conjunction with the birthday celebration of our very supportive Vice Governor Dr. Hubbert Dolor, who actively participated and encouraged residents to donate.

"We are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated in this meaningful event," said Nora Carandang the Provincial Director of Tropang Lakas ng Barangay "This successful blood drive demonstrates the strong spirit of community in Oriental Mindoro and highlights the importance of blood donation in saving lives."

The collected blood will be used to replenish the OMBC's supply, ensuring the availability of life-saving blood for patients in need throughout the province.

‘THEY ARE EXTREMELY DEVASTATED’

Actor and Philippine Army reservist Gerald Anderson appealed to netizens on Saturday for donations to support Filipinos impacted by Typhoon , as well as to assist the Coast Guard station in Batangas.

“Kanina po ay galing kami sa Coast Guard station sa Batangas. They are extremely devastated also by Typhoon Kristine,” Anderson said in an Instagram video.

The Sierra Madre, often referred to as the "backbone" of Luzon, stands as the Philippines' most extensive mountain range, stretching over 540 kilometers along the northeastern coast of the island. This breathtaking region is one of the most biodiverse areas in the country, hosting a rich variety of flora and fauna.

Functioning as a natural shield, the Sierra Madre plays a crucial role in protecting Luzon from the onslaught of powerful typhoons that originate in the Pacific Ocean. Without its majestic presence, the devastation from super typhoons like could be catastrophic.

Rising to an impressive height of 1,266 meters above sea level, the Sierra Madre encompasses approximately 1.4 million hectares, safeguarding 68 protected areas across 10 provinces: Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, and Quezon.

We are incredibly fortunate to have the Sierra Madre, a true treasure of natural beauty and environmental significance.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 21, 2024 Trolab Pilipinas and PNVSCA Sign Memorandum of Agreement to Promote Volunteerism Quezon City, Philippines: Trolab Pilipinas and the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA), an organization under the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA), have signed a Memorandum of Agreement to foster partnership and collaboration. The signing took place at the PNVSCA office in Quezon City on June 21, 2024. The agreement was signed by PNVSCA Executive Director Donald James D. Cawet and Trolab Pilipinas Chairperson Lemuel Trigue with Trolab President Toto Ilagan. This partnership aims to promote volunteerism through various programs and activities nationwide, underscoring both organizations' commitment to harnessing the power of volunteerism for community development and national progress.
