Dropping off our princess to meet Team Pasig as they fly off to Puerto Princessa to compete for this year’s Batang Pinoy.

Grateful for the city council of Pasig led by Mayor Vico Sotto for taking care of the Pasig athletes from the airfare, food, accommodation, uniforms, supplies and allowances. Truly good governance is possible if the leaders have a servant’s heart.

Let’s go Pasig, let’s go!!!

We wanted to do a family photo session but it was sort of disappointing when we got to the studio. We did not push through as we felt we were sort of “scammed” Sadly we walked away and then our Drizlets suggested “Why not just do photobooth instead?” And we immediately agreed to the idea. Best part is, we enjoyed the whole experience. Sharing our behind the scenes video from our photobooth session. 🩵

Our dearest kuya turns 17 today and we asked him how he wanted to celebrate his special day and he simply said “I just want to play badminton today”

Yes that is our kuya. No fancies, no frills. But we wanted to surprise him anyway. So we brought him to a dining experience to celebrate his special day.

Thank you to the amazing staff of Teppanya - Shangri-la Plaza for making our dining experience very pleasurable. Thank you Chef Jethro for showcasing your cooking skills with a witty sense of humor. Salamat for preparing our meal today na masarap at entertaining at the same time.

Happiest birthday kuya! You are a blessing to us and we are grateful to God that He gave you to us as our first born. Always remember that you are deeply loved, highly favored and truly blessed because you have accepted our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. That is more than enough in this lifetime and after.

The Philippine National Juniors Ranking is back to zero. Fresh start for each Jr. badminton player as this year’s round of ranking tournaments begin. As this season of ranking begins, we truly thank God for giving our Drizlets the chance to do well in this sport.

Good job mga anak! Above the rankings and the wins, may you remember to focus on the most important thing of being a Christian student-athlete and that is to do your best and offer it to the Lord

The first day of September will always be special to us as this day culminates the journey of having this place we call home. This spot right here summarizes what our place stands for, it holds what we value most and it testifies to all the things that God had done (and will do) for our family.

One thing we are truly grateful for is the physical strength and good health to keep up with our energetic Drizlets. Two years ago when they started playing badminton, we were forced to learn and play the sport as a way of supporting their passion. Now, we are advocates of playing as a family to build a stronger bond, practice better communication and enjoy getting fit together.

It can be other things as well as long as you find common things to do together as a family and not be wrapped up in the chains of the virtual world

Officially a teenager today!

We celebrate your life today, our dear lil princess, as you enter the exciting world of the teen years.

There will be a lot of changes inside out (yes just like the movie) but you can confidently assure yourself that we (daddy,mommy and kuya) will be here to guide and love you in all circumstances that you may find yourself in.

We pray unceasingly that you always seek the will and purpose of the Lord in your life that your life may be used for His glory and be a blessing to all those around you, just as you already are right now.

Teenager or not, you will always be the Drizlers’ bebe. Don’t you ever forget that.

A proper congratulations to this young man who has always, always been a source of joy and gratefulness.

We still cannot believe that you are on your way to senior high school. Still fresh from our eyes how we saw you as a baby that can literally fit a shoe box.

You have always been a fighter: Having been born one and a half-months earlier that your supposed birth date, the Lord gave you the strength to survive.

You have always been an achiever: Giving your best in all that you do, the Lord blessed the work of your hands and you brought home so many proof of rewards and recognition.

You have always been a leader: Seeing how you have always had the heart for others, the Lord gave you a servant’s heart that made you reach out to those who needed help.

You are such a magnificent blessing! We are thrilled to see you soar higher as you go to the next stop of your academic journey. Congratulations kuya! Our hearts overjoyed and we praise God for the person He is molding you to be. Continue to put Him first in all things, that you may find purpose in what you do and success will surely follow. Another tournament, another story to tell.

Yesterday while our lil miss only reached quarter finals, we still celebrate as we witnessed this moment of sibling love. Since kuya did not have any games, he was alongside his sister and coached her in all her games. Our hearts couldn’t be happier knowing how our drizlets will be there for each other always. We pray that the Lord continue to impress in their hearts to love and support one another every waking moment and aspect of their life.

This picture right here is more than any podium finish, more than any gold this world can offer.

In the past one and a half year, one thing has been evident in front of our eyes: hindi biro ang maging isang student athelete.

But this post is not for them.

This goes out to all the parents of a student-athlete.

Ang hirap maging magulang ng isang atleta. To think na bago pa lang ang mga anak namin sa kanilang journey as student-athletes. Pero ang dami na kaagad ang bumungad na lessons and experiences sa amin. Maraming bagay pala ang kailangan mong paghandaan para sa landas na ito.

FIRST: Kailangan handa kang maging malakas physically. Ibang klase ang schedule ng trainings and tournaments not to mention the location where this will lead the athlete. You have to be as fit as your kids para makasabay ka sa demand ng kanilang buhay.

SECOND: Kailangan handa ka financially. Good trainings have an equivalent cost. Hindi pa kasali dito ang lahat ng kailangan na equipment and uniform and all the other stuff that might be needed along the way.

THIRD: Kailangan handa ka emotionally and mentally. This one is critical since the kids go through this as well in their journey. Roller coaster ang emotions in each tournament that they go through and mental battle din and labanan sa loob at labas ng court. There will be times that they will doubt their abilities, there will be moments when they will feel inadequate, and when such times come kailangan andun kayo to encourage them and lead them back to the right track. Prepare your hearts to mend theirs because it can break many times along the way.

ON TOP of these three, an athlete’s parent should be strong in faith. We have to acknowledge at all times that these skills and resources come from the Lord and help remind our kids to always do their best and offer it all for God’s greater glory.

Hindi man madali maging magulang ng isang atleta, masaya at fulfilling naman knowing that we are there to support our kids. Lahat ng time, energy, resources and strength will never go to waste as we do it all with love.

Laban lang mga daddy and mommy!
