Happy Birthday, Mom Arci!

Grabe, sobrang thankful ako na nakilala kita. Hindi lang dahil leader kita, pero dahil sa impact mo sa buhay ko. Napaka-inspiring mo, at lagi kong naiisip kung gaano ako ka-blessed na ikaw ang leader ko. Thank you kasi hindi mo lang ako tinuruan kung paano maging mas mahusay, pero pinakita mo rin sa’kin kung paano maniwala sa sarili ko at sa mga pangarap ko.

Mom, ikaw yung laging nagpapaalala sa’kin na kahit anong hirap, kaya ko, basta hindi susuko. Dahil sa’yo, mas naniniwala ako na kaya kong abutin yung dreams ko, at ikaw yung proof na possible talaga. Sobrang laking bagay na naging parte ako ng special day mo ngayon, ang 26th birthday mo. It’s such an honor to celebrate with you.

Alam ko, hindi ako perfect na sinag-member. May mga pagkukulang ako, pero gusto kong malaman mo na ginagawa ko ang lahat para maging mas mabuti, mas deserving, at maging best na sinag para sa’yo. Kasi ikaw yung best leader na pwede kong hilingin.

Sana lahat ng dreams mo matupad, at sana maging mas successful ka pa sa lahat ng plano mo sa buhay. Lagi mong tatandaan, kahit anong mangyari, nandito lang ako para sa’yo. Sanggang-dikit tayo, Mom. I will always be on your side no matter what.

Sobrang love kita, at sobrang grateful ako na ikaw ang naging leader at inspiration ko. You deserve all the happiness and blessings sa birthday mo. Wishing you nothing but a beautiful, joyful, and love-filled birthday! Enjoy your day, Mom Arci! ❤️

Jaja, as you embark on this new chapter, I just want to take this moment to let you know how incredibly thankful I am. Thankful because I got to meet someone as amazing as you—someone who isn’t just smart, talented, and incredibly beautiful (pang-Miss Universe levels, hindi mapagkakaila), but also someone with a heart so genuine and kind.Thank you for being one of the greatest SMEs I’ve ever had the privilege to work with. Your guidance, your brilliance, and the way you uplift everyone around you are things we will all dearly miss. But more than that, thank you for the friendship we’ve built. "We’re at that point we’re at a really historical moment with this.” — Experts say HIV is no longer a terminal illness.

According to the World Health Organization, 42.3 million people have died from AIDS-related illnesses since the beginning of the epidemic. But medical science has brought an end to the worst ravages of the virus.

People with HIV had a life expectancy of just 39 in 1996. In 2011, the life expectancy was 72 — the same as individuals without HIV.

Today, people living with HIV who have access to treatment can expect to live as long as their peers who do not have HIV. For most patients, it's a chronic disease, much like diabetes or heart disease. “It means likely you can have a normal lifespan and have a similar life to someone who does not have HIV,” says Dr. Ray Martins, chief medical officer at Whitman-Walker Health in Washington.

How did we achieve this? Antiretroviral therapy (ART) largly transformed HIV from a fatal infection into a chronic disease that can be managed. ART reduces the amount of HIV in the blood to undetectable levels, which also prevents the virus from being sexually transmitted.

And while it is true that many people lack access to treatment, this is a political and social problem — sadly, not something that can be solved by the medical sciences. So while we still have a ways to go, scientists have done their very best. Now, it is up to those in power to ensure individuals have the necessary access
