This one is the oldest hotel in the world and has been operating since 705. The fact that it has been run by the same family since its establishment more than 1,300 years ago is another unique aspect.

Fujiwara Mahito established the thousand-year-old family business Nishiyama Onsen Keiunkan in 705. The founder’s ancestors have run the hotel for over 1,300 years, and it has gone through 52 successive generations of leadership in Hayaka, in the Yamanashi area.

Competing in the 41-years-old-and-up division, Hardy, competing in the gi at 82.3kg, submitted all three of his opponents en route to the gold medal🥇

Hardy posted about his foray into Brazilian jiu-jitsu on Instagram, he wrote:

“Simple training, for me (as a hobby and a private love) has been fundamentally key to further develop a deeper sense of inner resilience, calm and well being,” Hardy wrote about Brazilian jiu-jitsu. “I can’t stress the importance it has had and the impact on my life and my fellow teammates.”
