A movie, book, or show talking about horrifying paranormal activities gets your blood pumping and heartbeat raising, just as we covered our eyes in the squid game series or crawled deep into the pillows while watching The Conjuring or Annabelle. For most of the people who watch or read horror stories, it's easy to lay afterward, keeping in mind that what you have witnessed is short of fiction or deliberately made up stories to creep you out. Once in a blue moon, we come across stories of ghostly figures, demonic possessions, exorcisms, or related stuff. Today we will look at the top 5 scariest ghost stories! Number 5, 'The haunted doll.' When you hear of A Haunted doll, what comes into your mind must be the figure of a creepy old Victorian looking porcelain kind of doll or particularly 'the Annabelle' as in The Conjuring movie and its subsequent movie parts. Maybe you will be so obsessed with barbie dolls, or maybe you will get too comfortable around any kids' toys too soon. This particular story is a gentle reminder that you should not do that! The reason is that a Disney's Frozen Elza doll that was gifted for Christmas has made to the headlines in newspapers and has become the talk of the town of Houston.
As per the Houston news, the headlines say that the doll had recited phrases from the movie Frozen and sang "Let it go" when a button on its necklace was pressed! How creepy is that! Emily Madonia, the mother of the child who owns the doll, added that for two years, it did that in English, and in 2015, it started doing it alternating between two languages; Spanish and English. Also, there wasn't a button that changed these, and these activities were purely random.
This Houston-based family has owned the doll for around six years, and they never changed its batteries. Mrs.Emily says that the doll would randomly begin speaking and singing when the batteries are turned off. However, this family decided to throw off the doll in December 2019. The scariest part is that they found it inside a bench in the living room weeks later. The kids insisted that they didn't put it there, and Emily Madonia believed them because there was no way that the kids dug and took the trash out. At this point, Elsa ceased to sing the English rendition of the song 'let it go' together, speaking only Spanish when pressed. It was then the family decided to double back the creep doll, and they placed it at the bottom of the garbage, which was eventually taken out on garbage day. When the family returned after a short trip, Elsa found out the doll was waiting in the backyard of their home. Also, Elsa got mailed by a family friend in Minnesota who taped the doll to the front bumper of his truck. As per the latest Facebook post, the family doesn't seem to have made their way back to Houston.
Number 4 ; The deadly exorcism. This story is about a 26-year-old London man named Kennedy Ife. In August 2016, Kennedy Ife began acting strange and aggressive following severe pain in his throat. It was reported that he beat his father and threatened to cut off his p***s and complained that a python or snake was inside him. Later the family restrained him to a bed with cable ties. As per the BBC reports, the family then set about attempting to cure Kennedy through prayers over the next three days His brother Colin Ife added his statement that “it's clear that the thing was on to him”, referring to a demon inside his brother, because whatever Kennedy did was not natural, and it was trying to kill him.
Kennedy had been bound to his bed for three days without medical attention when the family called emergency services, explaining to the cops that Kennedy was struggling with dehydration. Kennedy appeared to have developed breathing issues and was pronounced dead afterwards. Kennedy's family members were accused of manslaughter, false imprisonment, and causing or allowing the death of a vulnerable adult. The postmortem examination revealed over 60 wounds, including a possible bite on his body. On March 14th, 2019 all seven family members were cleared of the charges after a four-day jury deliberation.
Number 3: Florida Devil Worshiping. This peculiar story is about a 35 year old school teacher named Danielle Harkins in Petersburg,Florida. Danielle's friends started noticing that he was acting strange since the June of 2012 developing an interest in the demonic rituals. Subsequently she was arrested after abusing 7 of her former students. As per the Tampa Bay times report Danielle Harkins told these students that they need to get rid of their bodies from demons. She also mentioned that they should cut their skin to let the evil spirit out, and they need it to burn the wounds to ensure that those spirits would not return. When she held a lighter to one of the student's hands, wind blew the flame out, which prompted her to spray his hand with perfume before setting it on fire. This made the boy suffer second-degree burns. The police who arrived at the crime scene were cut on the neck with broken bottles, and Harkins used a flame to heat a small key, which she then used to Cauterize the wound. However, none of the students themselves told their parents about the event. The investigators also added that they had spoken to Harkins but she didn't even spell out what type of religion would request such drastic measures. Isn't this blood-chilling?
Number 2. This is about the death of Elisa Lam. Elisa was the last seen on January 31st, 2013 in the lobby of the Cecil hotel in downtown Los Angeles. This hotel is infamous for the recurring accidents occuring in the place. She was documenting a trip on her blog and was checking in with her parents everyday. On January 31st these calls stopped and Elisa had vanished. Soon the cops became involved and her parents arrived to help with the search. LAPD released an footage of Elisa before her disappearance which shows Eliza behaving strangely in an elevator appearing to talk with an invisible person crouching in the corner and opening and closing the door. What is going on in this video raises more questions than answers because the theories range from psychotic episodes to demonic position and to unknown assailants just out of the camera's view. It was reported later that the shower in the hotel was awful. When the tap got turned on, the water coming out was Black for a few seconds, and then it was turning back to normal. On the morning of February 19th a Hotel employee went to the roof and investigated the hotel's storage tank. It was then authorities found the decomposing naked body of Elisa.
Her personal items were found nearby. After the autopsy, the death was labeled accidental. The authorities claimed that the tank had a metal that made it difficult to open and the roof was secured with an alarm and lock. The hotel had an unusual history of night stalker Richard Rameriz who was found guilty of 14 slayings in the 1980’s, and lived on the 14th floor for several months. Jack Unterweger, an international serial killer who is also the suspected of murdering three prostitutes during the time he lived in the hotel, killed himself in jail in 1994. Netflix even documented A crime series called 'Crime scene: The vanishing at Cecil hotel', which explored Elisa's tragic case.
Number 1; Utah-Murder-Suicide case. This case happened in September 2014. A teenager named Utah returns to his home to find his parents and three siblings dead. It appeared to be a murder-su***de, but no su***de note or prior indication would have led them to commit the su***de as per the cops. The cops could not find out why the two parents would kill themselves and three of their four children. For a year, nobody knew exactly what happened to the family, but police released more chilling details based on the case in January. According to the accounts from family members, the parents were driven by a belief that the apocalypse was coming and an obsession with a convicted killer. The near and dear of the family told the police that the Utah family's parents had read about the world's evil and wanted to escape The forthcoming apocalypse. The cops also found letters written by Kristi Stack, who was one of the state's most infamous convicted killers and Dan Lafferty who was accused and convicted for the fatal stabbing of his sister-in-law and her one-year-old child. Isn't that really creepy and scary to move out of the world fearing evil?
