REITERATION OF PREPAREDNESS MEASURES FOR HEAVY RAINS DUE TO THE SHEARLINE

The Province of Camarines Sur continues to experience moderate to heavy rains due to the effects of the Shearline, resulting in reports of flooding and impassable spillways in various municipalities. Per PAGASA Weather Advisory No. 18, issued at 11:00 AM today, moderate to heavy rains are expected to persist across the province until Tuesday, January 14.

In light of this, the following preparedness measures are reiterated to ensure public safety and minimize the impact of this weather disturbance:

1. Continuously inform and advise all residents of the expected weather conditions and necessary precautions.
2. Conduct pre-emptive evacuation in areas identified as susceptible to flooding, rain-induced landslides, and other hazards.
3. Advise residents to prepare emergency kits and avoid unnecessary travel during periods of heavy rains.
4. Ensure debris and wastes are cleared from water channels to mitigate flooding during heavy rains.
5. Preposition rescue teams in strategic locations for rapid deployment when needed.
6. Intensify monitoring of local situations and ensure submission of timely reports to the PDRRMC EOC.

All concerned LDRRMCs and agencies are directed to implement these measures within their areas of responsibility to mitigate the impact of this weather disturbance.
