BREAKING NEWS - After a heated months-long manhunt, doomsday preacher Apollo Quiboloy appeared in court on Friday, September 13, where he entered a not guilty plea to the charge of trafficking.

Quiboloy and five other individuals—Jackielyn Roy, Sylvia Cemañes, Cresente, Paulene, and Ingrid Canada—are accused of trafficking in this Pasig case. This offense falls under Republic Act 9208, commonly known as the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003. Trafficking is currently a non-bailable offense.

Miss Universe Philippines 2024 has announced four more crowns for delegates, including Miss Supranational Philippines, Miss Charm Philippines, Miss Eco International Philippines, and Miss Cosmo Philippines. Justin and Hailey Bieber are going to be parents!

The couple announced on Instagram on May 9 that Hailey Bieber was pregnant with their first child. Justin, 30, and Hailey Bieber, 27, shared videos and photos of the model showing off her baby bump in a white dress as a couple.

A spokesperson for Hailey Bieber tells NBC News that the model is a little over six months pregnant.

Yves Saint Laurent confirmed in a press release that the Biebers took part in a vow renewal in Hawaii on May 9. The fashion house added that they wore Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello during the ceremony.

For the first time, President Joe Biden officially warned Israel on Wednesday, May 8, that if Israeli forces launched a significant assault on Rafah, a city teeming with refugees in southern Gaza, the US would cease providing it with weapons.

“I made it clear that if they go into Rafah…, I’m not supplying the weapons that have been used historically to deal with Rafah, to deal with the cities – that deal with that problem,” Biden said in an interview with CNN.

In an attempt to avert an Israeli attack on Rafah, Biden used his toughest rhetoric in public to date in his remarks, which also highlighted the widening divide between the US and its most powerful Middle Eastern ally.

Biden acknowledged US weapons have been used by Israel to kill civilians in Gaza, where Israel has mounted a seven-month-old offensive aimed at annihilating Hamas. Israel’s campaign has so far killed 34,789 Palestinians, mostly civilians, the Gaza Health Ministry said.

The President Marcos senatorial ticket for the upcoming elections is likely to be housed in the UniTeam electoral alliance in 2022, thanks to the partnership renewal between the Partido Federal and Speaker Martin Romualdez's Lakas-CMD.

On Wednesday, May 8, the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) of Marcos and the Lakas-CMD of Romualdez signed the agreement.

PFP, according to its national president South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo Tamayo, is home to nearly half of the governors in the country.

Lakas-CMD, where Romualdez is party president, is the most dominant bloc in the House, boasting 100 members that account for one-third of the chamber’s members.

Manila, Philippines—The Butuan City government released P154.77 million under the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) in 2023, but state auditors labeled the money as "irregular."

According to the audit team, the disclosures went against Presidential Decree No. 1445 as well as circulars from the Commission on Audit (COA), Department of Budget and Management (DBM), and both.

Amounts under the P280 million NTF-ELCAC Local Government Support Fund-Support to Barangay Development Program (LGSF-SBDP) allocated to Butuan City may only be disbursed until December 31, 2022, according to DBM Local Budget Circular No. 135 published in 2021.

Manila, Philippines—The multilateral maritime exercise between the navy of the United States, France, and the Philippines formally started on Thursday in the West Philippine Sea. Prior to the trilateral patrols, there was a noticeable rise in the number of Chinese vessels in the area.

Lawmakers from the House of Representatives have cast doubt on Duterte’s capacity to oversee the country’s education system.

Asked if Marcos can assure that Sara Duterte will keep her post, Marcos said that it was down to whether or not they could do their jobs.

“Any of the cabinet secretaries will be replaced kapag hindi nila ginagawa yung trabaho nila. All the other things are not part of the discussion.
