Pursuant to the Office Memorandum No. 04 series of 2020 of the Office of the College President, the Department of Communication will be moved to the newly Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences. Thus, the BA Communication program will have a new home effective 1st semester 2021-2022. We will be forever indebted to the Institute of Education for being our great mentor and for giving us temporary home for three years.

Are you an aspiring young journalist or storyteller who wants to learn how to write more stories about the environment? Do you want to take your love for the earth to the next level by advocating for it through journalism?

Join the The Green Beat: Islas, a series of intensive month-long virtual media training and capacity-building workshops on environmental journalism open for all qualified campus journalists from Palawan, Zambales, Occidental Mindoro, Bohol, and Cagayan de Oro City.

The ultimate vision of this project is to increase the quality and quantity of news coverage on environmental issues in the campus and community newspapers, as well as different multimedia platforms, by equipping young journalists with the necessary skills, knowledge, and expertise to pursue the green beat in story-telling.

The Green Beat: Islas is a project of the Association of Young Environmental Journalists (AYEJ) and the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines, together with its implementing partners across the areas: Palawan State University’s University Student Government (Palawan), Xavier University’s Development Communication Society (Cagayan de Oro), President Ramon Magsaysay State University’s Biology Majors Society (Zambales), the Office of the Vice-Mayor B**g Marquez (Occidental Mindoro), and Holy Name University (Bohol).

[INTERNATIONAL OPPORTUNITY]
The University of Surabaya, Indonesia in partnership with Davao del Norte State College invites DNSC students for an Online Summer Program 2021 titled "Dealing with the Covid-19 Pandemic: Best Practices from Indonesia” on February 01-05, 2021.

The program will be delivered ONLINE in a serious but fun method through various virtual tours of Indonesia tourism objects and the Ubaya campus. Participants will learn How does Indonesia deal with the Covid-19 pandemic from economic, scientific, law, and social perspectives and not to forget to learn a unique Indonesian culture.
