To all our dear friends, listeners, and partners in the Chinese community, as well as everyone celebrating the Lunar New Year, may this season bring joy, peace, and blessings to you and your loved ones!

Through our two international shortwave broadcast facilities in Iba, Zambales, and Bocaue, Bulacan, we broadcast programs in more than 40 languages and dialects to countries like China, Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Indonesia, Russia, and Thailand.

Locally, several of our FEBC stations offer Chinese-language program to serve listeners in their heart language. This New Year, we invite you to continue partnering with us in prayer, support, and giving as we join hands with the international community to broadcast the Good News until all have heard!

Pray for FEBC broadcasts reaching Moldova and for the Teen Project, which creates programs for teenagers and invites them to in-person meetings to learn more about Christ and the Bible. May their hearts be open to the Gospel as they build strong relationships in these gatherings.

This initiative is fostering strong relationships and opening opportunities for the Gospel to be shared with the next generation, until all have heard!

NATIONAL BIBLE DAY! 📖

In 2019, former President Rodrigo Duterte signed a law declaring the last Monday of January each year as a special working holiday in observance of National Bible Day. Republic Act 11163 emphasizes the State’s policy to aid and encourage the development of the moral character and spiritual foundation of the Filipino people.

Since its institutionalization, we also celebrate National Bible Month every January, which includes National Bible Week and National Bible Sunday. The Philippine Bible Society (PBS) leads these commemorations, with this year's theme: “God's Word: Source of H.O.P.E.”—where H.O.P.E. stands for Harmony, Obedience, Peace, and Empowerment. This theme draws inspiration from Romans 15:4 and Lamentations 3:21-26.

Join us in spreading the Good News by supporting Bible readings on air, online, and in our daily lives. Let us make this celebration a movement that strengthens our connection to God's Word throughout the year.

Presidential Proclamation No. 44, signed by President Corazon Aquino on November 21, 1986, declared the last Sunday of January as Bible Sunday, as part of National Bible Week. This special day encourages Filipinos to reflect on the importance of God's Word in their lives.

In the 1950s, FEBC used a converted Chevrolet into some kind of jeepney to shuttle people to downtown Manila. The caption of this picture in a 1950’s “Broadcaster” publication states that missionary ladies went to a hospital every Thursday to minister to patients, many of whom were WWII casualties. This outreach was a key part of FEBC’s mission to bring the Gospel to those in need.

Continuing this legacy, in December 2024, a “Handog Radyo” (Give A Radio) campaign was held at the Philippine Heart Center to distribute Portable Missionary (PM) radios, Bibles, and in-kind gifts to 104 patients. By reaching hospitals, jails, and underserved communities, we are committed to spreading Christ’s love through prayer and Gospel broadcast.

About FEBC Philippines

The ministry of FEBC Radio grew out of the heart of FEBC founders, two friends – Dr. Robert Bowman and Mr. Jim Broger – who responded to God’s call for missions in the Far East.

In the 1940s, when Dr. Bowman and Mr. Broger began to establish Far East Broadcasting Company (FEBC), they were looking to reach millions in China. The two men from the US pooled their resources together, hoping to set up a radio station there. However, the doors closed, leading them to the Philippines.

On July 6, 1946, John Broger secured a franchise for FEBC, and within a few weeks, found a suitable site in Karuhatan, Valenzuela. Not long after, on August 26, 1946, the Philippine Congress granted FEBC a franchise to operate radio broadcast facilities under a Filipino corporation registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission. In His own time and through countless miraculous ways, God provided for all the other needs of this radio ministry—land, antenna, transmitter and manpower.
