Andaming gusto mag try and pasukin ang freelancing. But what are the things you need to know before you jump in ?
1. Hindi to para sa lahat.
- I hate to say this but its true. Unang una hindi stable ang income dito, you can be earning a lot today but you are never sure about it the next day, weeks or months.
2. Bawal spoon feeding.
- If you are someone na hindi matiyaga mag aral, tamad mag research, puro βHow?β, gusto refer nalang agad and ayaw matuto. The chances of you getting a client is very low.
3. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS EASY MONEY
- Alam ko most of you na hook lang because malaki ang sahod. Letβs say nalang na most of the freelancers or VA are earning 6 digits, ako na nagsasabi hindi madali mga work ng mga yan. If you see them working it effortlessly, itβs because matagal na nila ginagawa and yun talaga yung passion nila. They also started from scratch from no clients to multiple clients. Sleepless nights and a lot of self research. If someone told you na madali lang ginagawa nila and they are earning 6 digits, let me know and parefer ππ Jk
4. You will be isolated.
- Syempre, you will work on your own. Wala kang mapagtatanongan kundi sarili mo lang, unless if si Client is available all the time. Malungkot, kase wala kang kausap or kachismisan π but kidding aside, when you enter this world sarili mo lang kakampi mo. There are a lot of communities naman in Facebook that you can join, so you wont feel alone and so you can relate to others. I will post those communities soon so like, share and follow.
5. No security
- Do not leave your 9 - 5 job for freelancing. I do not recommend na aalis kayo sa current job niyo without any security. Meron akong nakikita na nag resign sila sa current job nila para mag freelancing, but after 1, 2, 3 and more months na lumipas hindi pa din sila nakahanap ng client and nawalan na sila ng savings and all. Ayun, napilitan sila bumalik sa previous job nila. But if you are someone naman na walang binabayarang bills and no mouths to feed, pwede mo naman siguro to iGo and sana all.
So, letβs keep in mind na freelancing is not easy as you see here in social media. You can be working a full time job and making freelancing as a part time, ganyan din ako nag start. Itβs okay to start small, do not rush yourself. Baby steps ba!
