Reyjel T. Patrimonio, a grade 8 student, achieved an incredible milestone at the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) 2024 held on December 12-15, 2024 in Montevista, Davao de Oro.
Competing for the first time, he won fifth place in editorial writing, earning him a spot at the Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) this March 2025 in Digos City.
"Wala ko nag-expect kay lisod kaayo ang topic sa final round pero nag-ampo ko na bahalag ika-5 lang basta makapasok sa RSPC ug dako jud akong kalipay nga natawag ang atong eskwelahan," Reyjel said.
Guided by his coach, Ma'am Shekinah Glory P. Sumatin, and driven by hardwork and enthusiasm, Reyjel excelled against his more experienced fellow writers. Their success is a proof that determination and effort will give you amazing results.
"Reyjel is really a smart boy," said Ma'am Sumatin, "nakaya niya ang 3 days lang nga training ug wala mi magdahum nga siya ang makapadala sa atoa sa RSPC."
Additionally, she emphasized her appreciation to everyone who assisted in making this win possible.
As they get ready for RSPC 2025, Reyjel is eager to carry on as a campus journalist, representing our institution on a wider scale.
The fact that this is our institution's first victory serves as a reminder that one step can lead you to a thousand miles and incredible experiences.
