CAFA ACOUSTIC NIGHT: UNLEASHED 2024

Before the official end of the academic year 2023-2024, the College of Architecture and Fine Arts bade their last goodbyes with the CAFA Acoustic Night: Unreleased 2024 on July 29.

The amazing and cozy night was built by the acoustic performances made by the students, as well as invited guests to celebrate the occasion, taking us on a lovely trip through the vast world of music that touched the hearts of our CAFA EARISTians.

Singers showcased their original compositions and covered some legendary OPM songs as well, and the amazing skills and lively atmosphere that pervaded the quadrangle were brought on by the cheers, clapping, and smiles shared between cocktails and camaraderie.

What a night it truly was. Until next time, peeps! 🎙️✨

Today marks the DSWD KALAHI-CIDSS Cash-for-Work Pre-Deployment Orientation 2024, a program aimed at helping students and fresh graduates take their first step into the career world. The program is three months long and follows the national minimum salary standard of ₱610.00 per 8 hours of office service.

In addition to preparing students and fresh graduates for the professional environment, this program also aims to alleviate poverty using the Community-Driven Development (CDD) Approach. It is being implemented across 16 regions, benefiting economically vulnerable individuals. The program emphasizes hands-on participation, transparency, and accountability in the offices where participants render their services, offering a glimpse into government processes.

The main objectives of the program are divided into three sections: 1. To provide income support to meet essential needs; 2. To enhance livelihood and economic stability; and 3. To engage participants in community development. This aligns with the DSWD tagline '𝘉𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘵 𝘉𝘶𝘩𝘢𝘺 𝘔𝘢𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘨𝘢 𝘴𝘢 𝘋𝘚𝘞𝘋'.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all staff members who dedicated their time to introduce our students and fresh graduates to this job opportunity and who skillfully handled the frequently asked questions during the open forum, lightening the atmosphere and concluding a successful Pre-Deployment Orientation. Special thanks also go to the Student Affairs and Services office for facilitating the necessary application documents, your student-centered office always lands great and useful opportunities! And thanks to the student attendees, too! Without you, none of this program would have come to life.

Tina @18✨🌟

The Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology, Major in Food Technology 1A, spearheaded Tina's Eighteenth Birthday Celebration on July 2, 2024, held at the 201 FT lecture room.

This event was made possible through the leadership of its event manager, Angelica Joy Terrencio, with the guidance of her beloved adviser, Prof. Mitos Arth Pielago.

Tina's birthday served as a culmination of knowledge gained from teachings throughout the 1st and 2nd semesters, including table setting, cooking, mise en place, serving, table setup, and even table skirting.

During the celebration, Tina left her audience stunned in her elegant purple gown, personally sponsored by the 3rd-year students of BSIT Fashion Technology, led by John Louisse Romano.

Bold, fierce, and better than ever, she marked this new milestone in style.

𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝟏: 𝐂𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐂𝐁𝐏𝐀 𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐊

The College of Business and Public Administration (CBPA) commemorated the first day of its 78th Founding Anniversary celebration on July 3, 2024, with its students wearing color-coded shirts depending on the program they belong to:

Blue for Human Resource Management
Yellow for Office Administration
Orange for Entrepreneurship
Green for CBPA & Marketing Management; and
Purple for Public Administration

The opening ceremony began at about 2:00 PM, with the lighting of the torch indicating the official commencement of the three-day event. The parade then proceeded from the front gate of EARIST down to Nagtahan Street, Magsaysay Boulevard, and finally circling back to Valencia Street towards the institution's back gate.

Following this, the cheerleading competitions for each program began, as did the first day of the sportsfest which was divided into two sports categories: basketball and volleyball.

There were also kiosks set up by CBPA organizations on the ground floor of Nudas Building.

Stay tuned for the second day of this festive event!

EE-Youth Ignites New Opportunities ⚡️

The CEN Building at Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering - Earist Manila hyped with anticipation yesterday, as institution professionals, and BSEE students gathered for a seminar with a theme "Sparking Growth 2024: Growth Opportunities in the Field of Electrical Engineering in the Philippines Industry." The event, featuring an outstanding speaker Rafael A. Zurbito, MBA, RME, CLSSYB, LCM, aims to diffuse spark on the evolving community of electrical engineering prospects within the Earist.

Attendees started arriving around 12:30 pm to register, receiving seminar souvenirs and inclusions alike. The program electrified a keynote session from Mr. Rafael A. Zurbito, wherein he illuminated the seminar's objectives and provided an overview of the agenda from his own experience.

Continuing the momentum, attendees had the opportunity to extract their questions during the Q&A session, followed by knowledgeable discussions. The event highlights a message from our former Dean of the College of Engineering, Engr. Apolinario Sollano and EE Department Head, Engr. Luigi Busa, who expressed their gratitude to speakers, co-professors, and attendees for their valuable contributions and encouraged them to continue engagement in upcoming events.

The seminar also conducted a raffle draw, offering student attendees the chance to win a brand new scientific calculator and Philippine electrical code book part 1&2. Winners happily claimed their rewards as the event took to a successful close, leaving participants electrified and equipped with new knowledge to sail the industry of Philippine Electrical Engineering.

REEE-YAAAL or FAAA-KEEE?! ♂/♀

Our peeps from the Food Technology class 1-B held their culminating event on the morning of June 27 at the 2nd Floor of the CIT Building, Food Technology/Lecture with its theme, "Gender Reveal: Mr. & Mrs. Molina."

This particular event was fantastic as it included lots of games, an intermission, and, of course, food that the first years personally prepared with the help of class 1-A. The concept and thought were creative and amazing; they gave the impression of being an actual gender reveal, it's GIVING~ from the amusing emcee, lovely "Mr. & Mrs. Molina," and entertaining guests.

The event was ultimately a memorable for the freshmen of the program. Kudos to their professors, officers, block mates, and other mates who helped to make the event happened!

The event was spearheaded by Food Technology instructor, Prof. Marivir M. Pielago, as well as the event Manager and former Mayor of 1-B, Jerome D. Policarpio. They also had a partnership with the EARIST Junior Fashion and Apparel Technologist Student Society (EJFATSS), Chibugans, EARIST Theater Arts Guild, and Alecxie Lights and Sounds Rental. Folks, your diligence, commitment, and persistence have paid off. This accomplishment serves as an opportunity for an even better future in addition to acknowledging your skill and hard work inclined to kitchen matters. Keep in mind that this is only the beginning, and endless possibilities await you!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What do you think? Will they welcome a little princess or a tiny prince into their family?

DISCLAIMER: The gender reveal event was commenced for academic and enjoyment purposes for Food Technology 1-B only.
