The Orange Peel Theory has been going around the internet for quite some time now. It first started in TikTok where the idea of peeling an Orange for someone could equate to showing oneโs love and affection towards them. Originally, it was a slideshow of screenshots of two people conversing via text wherein ๐๐๐๐๐๐-๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ was used to cover ๐๐๐ฃ๐๐๐.
Some people say you must peel your own Orange. Some people say we can have our Oranges peeled by someone who would like to do it for us, but really, who shall peel our Oranges?
In this theory, we can deduce three perspectives, depending on how you will look at it.
First is that we are responsible for peeling our own Orange so we should do it by ourselves. Second is that to ๐๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ ๐ก๐ ๐๐๐ฃ๐; therefore, we can let those who love us peel our Orange, and we can peel for them. Third is that we can work with others to peel our Oranges and we can work with them peeling theirs.
Still, what does this mean? How do Oranges relate to love and relationships? Why is it an arguable topic?
Peeling Oranges requires time, effort, and carefulness. I guess it is safe to say that it is, truly, similar to love.
In life, we are, in fact, responsible for our ownโour responsibilities, decisions, and basically, ourselves. So, ๐ค๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐ข๐ ๐๐ค๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐.
But this does not mean we must not give a chance to others who are ๐ค๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ก๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ข๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ค๐๐กโ ๐กโ๐๐. Maybe thatโs what this Orange Peel Theory is about. That, yes, we are responsible for peeling our own Oranges, yet it is totally fine to let and help others in peeling Oranges. Loving, caring, and showing affection are ๐๐๐๐ ๐กโ๐๐ ๐๐ข๐ ๐ก ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ .
It is important for us to know how one would like their Orange peeled just as it is important for us to know how we would like our Oranges to get peeled.
So... Who shall peel my Orange?
I believe that a better way to put it is like this: we are responsible for growing and protecting our oranges, yet we can let others peel with us, so we can share the joy and success of a peeled one. Gentle to not crush the pulp, careful to not let the juice out.
I am sure that you have heard of, โ๐ฟ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐กโ๐ ๐ค๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐ข๐๐.โ With the right people, things get easier. We can work with others to peel our Oranges and we can work with them peeling theirs. Peeling someoneโs Orange is not our responsibility, but we do it out of love.
Peeling requires time, effort, and gentleness, and so does love.
But peeling is a responsibility, and love is not.
