We made it, Door-itos. This is the last parable on the series 🎉 So maybe it’s fitting that we talk about the figurative keys to heaven and hell that we see in the Bible because, turns out, they have everything to do with all the parables that we have been talking about for 8 months (8 months!). We want to thank Shincheonji Church of Jesus for sharing a part of their testimony with us on the show. You can check out the rest of their testimony on their YouTube channel. We also want to thank everyone who has been a part of this series and all our friends who swung by 🤗♥️ It’s been truly fascinating and enriching and Tina and I are so excited to continue on this journey. Today on the pod, Mica Pineda is back to sit back and listen with us to Instructor Aaron about the three kinds of Israel in the Bible. The name Israel started out as a blessing that was given to Jacob after he wrestled and overcame the angel after which he had 12 sons who became the 12 tribes of Israel. Interestingly, we see the same pattern again with Jesus - he overcomes (Jn 16:33) and then he has 12 disciples who are addressed as the 12 tribes in James 1:1. In the book of Revelation, there is one who is referred to as the one who overcomes and there are 12 tribes that are created. Is this pattern to happen a third time?

Host and actress Issa Litton is a curious cat and not only does she want to know about the heaven, earth, sun, moon and stars that are used figuratively in the book of Revelation but she even asks about the sea that passes away in Rv 21:1 😸 This is perhaps the biggest reason why people equate the end time to a physical destruction of the planet but if we consider how the same language already appeared in an Old Testament book of prophecy (Is 65:17, for one) and read what happened in Gn 37:9-11, well, we think it's time we put away all the scary doomsday interpretations of Revelation. The term 'end time' gets thrown around a lot to mean the annihilation of the planet and life as we know it but is that what the Bible is referring to when it says end time/end of the world/end of the age? Jerusalem and Babylon are two places that appear from the Old Testament all the way to the book of Revelation in the Bible. We understand that these are actual places where a lot of significant events took place in the past but what are they doing in a book of prophecy for the second coming, especially Babylon when it no longer exists as such? Many claim and fear that a physical war will be the beginning of the end but the Scriptures make it clear that we do not wage war as the world does (Eph 6, 2Cor 10) so it's all a little confusing but that's why we're here. Halo, Doo-rito! 😇 Do you know that the Bible shows us the structure of heaven and from different angles?! Oh my word. Moses, Jesus and John all saw heaven and when God shows His kingdom in this way, it is for whoever sees it to build it so He can dwell here on earth. This is what God wants and we actually ask Him to do this every time we pray the Lord's Prayer! Moses built an intricate physical tabernacle patterned after what he was shown and Jesus built God's spiritual kingdom here on earth. In the book of Revelation, John is also shown a vision of heaven in Rv 4 and among the things he sees are the four living creatures who are also referred to as the four winds in Daniel 7. Who are they and what do they do? And how does this look when it fulfills? This is only part 1 of the convo, part 2 on Thursday! 😉

We can see throughout the book that God abhors idols and worshiping them was basically an act of forsaking the one true God. Physical idols in the Old Testament make a transition to spiritual ones in the New Testament and then in the book of Revelation, there is mention of 'food sacrificed to idols' in Rv 2 and an 'image' that is worshiped in Rv 13 - what iz thiiiizzz 😱 Plus! Instructor Aaron's personal testimony on why he believes Shincheonji's understanding is the truth that we all need to hear and verify about the second coming.

Our friend Tin is smart, funny, adorbs and she actually knows and talks professionally about basketball - give the rest of us a chance, girl! 🤩 Today, she opens up about how the loss of loved ones got her wondering about Purgatory so we set out to answer that question and the most wonderfully odd thing happened. In the process of looking at what the Bible says about Purgatory and the afterlife, Instructor Aaron also ended up answering how those who never heard the gospel while they were alive can be saved. 1Pt 3:19 says that Jesus went and preached to the spirits in a place called prison and 1Pt 4:6 says that the gospel was preached to the dead. Are you ready for today's parable to rock your wooooorld? 🙊 The language of stone or rock is something that we see all throughout the Bible - the Ten Commandments were written on stone tablets (a foreshadowing of Prov 3:3 which says we should write God's commands on the tablet of our hearts❤️), Jesus is called a 'living stone' and 'the stone the builders rejected that became a cornerstone' to name a few and we see it quite a bit in books of prophecy as well. In fact, in Rv 2:17, Jesus promises to give someone a white stone at the time of Revelation. What does this mean? We are leaving no stone unturned on this episode so come on in! 😁

Rv 15 mentions the song of Moses and the song of the Lamb and then in Rv 14 there is mention of a "new song" which is to be the eternal gospel (that only the 144,000 can learn! He’s joining us today and Sam has zero chill because since their radio days together, Nikko has gotten engaged, married and become a parent all during the pandemic (while Sam has had none of the above happen to her). What better way to reunite than over a conversation about the book of Revelation, second coming and parables? 😂 Today, it’s the parable of the trumpet. Trumpets are not new to the Bible - remember the wall of Jericho? Isaiah 58:1 says to raise your voice like a trumpet and Paul mentions a last trumpet in 1Cor 15:51-54 that will change us 'in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye'. In Rv 8, seven angels are given seven trumpets and each trumpet sets off some pretty wild events. Are these things connected and what is the trumpet referring to in Revelation? I don’t know guys, but this one hit all the right notes for us 😉
