Our house was in flames last night (March 2, 2024 - 2:04 am).
I have lost everything I have ever owned in a span of 5 minutes.
We were able to get out safely but we weren't able to save anything.

Take note that before buying that plane ticket and booking that hotel— consider the land travel that you’ll do, which is that 5hr ride if you’re coming from Puerto Prinsesa para masulit ang bayad sa pagstay sa hotel. Kasi sayang if for example, nabook mo ng 4 days yung hotel tapos sa 4th day, aalis ka ng umaga para sa 5hr van ride back to puerto prinsesa kasi hapon yung flight mo.. sayang yung 1 day pay mo sa hotel🥹💜
Booking a flight to Puerto Princesa when you’re on your way to El Nido means you need to ride the 5hr land travel. Bring your favorite candies with you and buy some water after landing—to battle motion sickness and hunger🍬🍫🍭
If you want to travel in groups, best fill a whole van of 13 pax para makaalis agad van niyo and onti lang joiners sa boat (boat is usually 18-22 pax)🙆♀️
Best to bring dry bags. You might think you won’t need it but you will. Buy dry bags before your trip kasi yung 150 na 10L dry bag sa shopee, 350 mo mabibili sa el nido 😂 pero if nakalimutan mo talaga I guess sulit din pag may print ng El Nido or Palawan yung mabibili mong dry bag na 350.. kasi souvenir na din 😂🎒
If you dont have cash, it’s okay! A lot of the restaurants/stores accept gcash, sometimes kahit yung mga naglalako, they have the gcash payment option💸💸
Plan your trip ahead. But if you don’t want to avail package tours from agencies before your trip, it’s ok. There are a lot of travel offices in el nido that are open until late at night so you can buy island tours as joiners.
Island tours provide lunches. If you’re sensitive, bring your own water and utensils. If you’re vegan or allergic to some food, let the travel agency know so they can arrange a specific food for you. Lunch that they’ll provide is for everyone to share kasi kaya let them know🍱
There are a lot of souvenir shops. Some are even open until late at night. Try bargaining! May mga ref magnets and pouches and wallets na pwede mo mabili ng assorted, 3 for 100php ✨
Food in El nido is really good! Kaso in our experience, mas okay bumili ng per viand na order kesa bumili ng family/barkada deals.. mas sulit yung serving, mas marami makakakain pag per order 🍜 🍕
Traveling solo? No one know how to take your best angle? Walang magpipicture sayo? No worries! Your tour guides are there to help! They’d be more than happy to help you out para sa instagram content mo and yung iba magvovoluteer pa na kunan ka ng human drone shot na video hahaha 10/10 sa mga tour guides na nagpapahuman drone shot. 😂 just tell them— kahit sa underwayer snorkeling/diving content mo pa yan! And if you’re happy with all of thr photos/videos taken, reward niyo nalang sila for a job well done and thank you😊📸
Most of the establishments/hotels offer water refill— bring your flasks/tumblers! It’s better to lessen plastic disposal sa pagbili ng water bottles (unless you’re gonna use the water bottle na binili for your whole trip, then go!). Leave footprints in the sand, not garbage.
Bring aloe vera kasi baka magkasunburn ka!! Aloe vera is your best friend hahaha jk Sunblock is your best friend so bring that talaga— and then aloe vera is your next bestie
Nightlife is alive in El nido—by the beach and by the town proper so if you wanna grab some drinks or magparty party sa gabi, check out which pubs, bistros and even rooftop restaurants ang bet mo 🪩
These are the things that I could think of, based from experiences so far! Hope these will help you plan your El Nido trip in the future 💜
