Not an alumna of both schools but played a significant part in my professional career. De Lasalle University encouraged me to love science even deeper through their Teacher Training Program which I attended and completed in the year 2017 to 2018 and even awarded a recognition as one of the most active members of PAPSI (Philippine Association of Physics and Science Instructors) outside NCR. UP Diliman on the other side helped push through my thesis study through Dr. Arlene Dela Cruz, Chemistry professor who served as validator and evaluator of my research instruments and provided technical assistance in crafting my 7E modules. Seeing them pour their heart out for the much coveted championship crown in the Men's Basketball and hearing the cheers of the seas of maroon and green brought me back all the memories of sleepless nights and tiring days of going back and forth to these UAAP schools and give everything to reach the goal..

Congratulations, DLSU Green Archers for the hard-earned championship. Thank you UP MBT for the well-fought game!!

PS. Nakakamiss yung time na tatakasan ko ang huling session ng TTP para habulin ang laban ng Lasalle at UP sa Womens Volleyball. From Taft to Gateway Cubao..mapapagalitan ni Dr. Ferrer pero okay lang..SPORTS SCIENCE NAMAN HAHAHAHA

Second Classroom Observation: Reflection On Action

1. The topic is not the original lesson I suppose to teach. Due to conflict of schedule, I was forced to redesign and replan my lesson for the demonstration.
2. Molecular geometry (VSEPR Theory) sounds complicated and difficult to contextualize. Personally, this topic is one of the hardest lessons I had in high school and something I don't want to encounter as far as chemistry is concern.
3. The lesson was made even more complicated as it needs to be aligned to classroom observable indicators such as considering IPs, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds of the learners. The use of locally-available materials instead of using costly molecular kits was considered, thanks to one of the Professors of Delasalle University, the teacher training program in Chemistry was so useful and aid my delivery of the lesson.
4. During the collaborative activity, one group struggled to create a 3D model of the compound given to them, I supposed to give simple covalent compounds to let them easily apply and predict the molecular geometry of it but then, this group picked a compound with coordinate covalent bond (nagiguilty ako dito, for sure kinabahan sila nang sobra). But I commend the leader of this group, she was able to explain what's coordinate covalent bond and explained vividly the result of their output (nakakaproud na kaya nilang i-explain na hindi nararattle).
5. With the limited time (5 minutes) to create a 3D model, illustrating the LeDS, computing the number of bonds and identifying the lone pairs, 8/9 groups got a perfect score during the presentation of the output. Magaling, magaling, magaling..
6. Overall, I was happy how the lesson turned out. It was seemingly complicated not until my students gave justice to all the strategies I used that led them to master the lesson and hopefully enjoyed the demonstration.
