Just as recreational centers nurture and house shelters, senior engineers look after their juniors and students. The comeback of face-to-face classes has allowed a more intimate form of communication between speakers and listeners. This is essential in pursuit of passing knowledge and sharing ideas as aspiring engineers prepare for a breakthrough in their career as the next generation to construct buildings and be the literal foundation for creation of infrastructures.

The Student Government President of the Bulacan State University (BulSU), Patricia Camus, kicked off her opening speech not with words of gratitude but with disappointment after Bulacan Province public officials did not show up in the highly-anticipated forum, โBALINTATAW: Sulyap sa Hinaharapโ held last Monday, January 30, 2023.
Camus emphasized in her speech that the event aimed to serve as a platform to know the plans of the public officials and to raise the demands of the people, however the officials were nowhere to be found in an almost two hours of waiting.
May mga professor na nag-cancel ng mga klase, [maging] ang mga effort ng mga organizers, but we were not given a chance to voice out, โCamus stated.
Still, the SG President welcomed and thanked the students, organizations, the cultural performers, the faculty as well as Governor Daniel Fernandoโs official representative, Antonette Constantino who were present at the event.
Following the speech, a video entitled was presented portraying the stance and testaments of the public and local officials about the current societal issues such as the never-ending oil price hike, traffic, inflation, criminality, the rising women-related violence in the province, red-tagging and many more.
The video also highlighted the prevailing challenges concerned with the LGBTQIA+ community, where an official strongly admitted that โcatcallingโ, a form of discrimination, and negative stereotyping still exist in the society. He suggested that the โAnti-Discriminatoryโ ordinance should not be confined in just one place but rather encompassing the entire province.
These concerns were somewhat answered as the official representatives spoke on-behalf of Governor Fernando and the Vice Governor, Alex Castro โ explaining the current programs, initiatives, and future plans of the Office. In defense, both representatives informed the public that the two officials have an important event today.
Moreover, an โopen forumโ was conducted in the latter part of the program were the issues on the transportation system in the province that burdens the โcommutersโ, the lack of concrete programs for women, and the struggles on the implementation of universal healthcare were tackled as Constantino explained the steps taken by the local government as well as the factors that hinders development and the misconceptions that surrounds these issues.
Meanwhile, the gymnasium was filled with fun and music as the Symphonic Band, BulSU Saring Himig, Lahing Kayumanggi, and the BulSU Entablado showed spectacular performances.

From battling societal problems to students' rights and welfare initiatives and ordinances, the BulSU Student Government (SG) President Patricia Camus enumerated a few of the key accomplishments of the student government in terms of social responsiveness, including calls for addressing workers' grievances and participating in election campaigns and protests against corruption and historical revisionism in their first 150 days of governance on the State of the Youth Address (SOYA) during the opening salvo of the Students' Rights and Welfare (SRW) Month on Thursday, October 6.
In terms of students' rights and welfare, Camus emphasized the successful petitions on inclusive and concrete guidelines for freshmen and working students.
Camus also assured that in the remaining days of their term, the programs that promote the interests of every BulSUan and the fight for a liberating university will continue.
