WORLD-CLASS FILIPINOS
The third edition of the “Likha Ko, Lahi Ko” trade show marks a tremendous increase in participants – up to 87 from around 20 last year – as it showcases traditional crafts from various parts of the Philippines at the Philippine International Convention Center Forum until June 11.

Spotted during the opening event was no less than First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, as well as prominent government officials such as senators Loren Legarda and Mark Villar, and a number of ambassadors and members of the diplomatic community.

After years of dealing with a host of ailments, Margie, I learned just this morning, has passed away.

My colleagues and I at PeopleAsia, whom the Espinos welcomed to their home as they sat for this story, wish to extend our condolences to Chet and the rest of the Espino and Quimpo clans.

Margie's is a life well-lived, their love story, a story well-fought to the glorious end. Eternal rest grant unto you, Margie. And may God's perpetual light shine upon you. Rest in peace, my friend.
