Many music listeners and music lovers pay less attention to the meaning of lyrics. They gravitate more towards the melody. If they like the melody, they couldn’t care less about the lyrics.

Did you know that the song “Chandelier” is about a party girl who has hit rock bottom planning to commit su***de?

She’s pushing herself to get drunk so she could numb the pain and muster the strength to execute her plan:

Throw 'em back 'til I lose count

And her exact plan was:

🎼 I'm gonna swing from the chandelier
From the chandelier
I'm gonna live like tomorrow doesn't exist

Feel my tears as they dry
I'm gonna swing from the chandelier
From the chandelier

She would hang herself from the chandelier. Her lifeless body will swing from the chandelier. She would free herself from her body and fly like a bird through the night. She will live in eternity, and she will cry no more.

Ang salitang “bili” (to buy) ay galing sa salitang “pili” (to choose; to select).

Ang noun form nilang dalawa ay iisa: pamimili.

So, the next time a vendor tells you to choose another item instead of the one you want, tell them.

I was at the market early this morning. After I bought some, I only had a 100 bill left and I still had to buy some bananas. I passed by a store which sells banana for 100 a kilo. I selected half of a bunch among those on display and told the vendor that if that half bunch cost less than 100, I would buy it and if it was worth more than 100, she would have to remove some because I will only buy for 100. Her immediate response was “Palitan natin. Pili tayo ng iba”, sabay pulot ng ibang half bunch na mas maliliit. Sabi ko “Eh eto ang gusto ko. Gusto mo bang bumili ako o hindi?”

Bakit LGUs ang may hawak ng issuance ng PWD ID, at bakit may unnecessary requirements?

I'm sure that some would say na "umuwi ka sa probinsiya at doon ka kumuha ng PWD ID", which exactly proves my point. Any person with disability should get that PWD ID kung saan man sila naroon dahil national naman ang coverage nito.

The Food Pyramid released by the USDA is perhaps the one chart that caused the most havoc in human health worldwide as it was not only included in the teachings at school but it was also adapted in food manufacturing.

We grew up learning that following this food pyramid was the path to healthy nutrition only to find out decades later that it was WRONG.

Do you know why the term “monthsary” was coined?

Gone were the times when the only known word for measuring relationships was “anniversary”.

Relationships have become fickle to the point that anniversaries were a high bar to achieve. Younger people in relationships wanted some sense of achievement that they thought of a “brilliant” idea to count time spent together in months.

In the future, relationships, assuming they’ll continue to exist, will be even more fickle that someone would start celebrating time spent together in weeks, and many people would follow the trend.

Of course, there will be more hook-ups and “before sunrise” relationships that wanting to “meet again” will be considered “achievement unlocked”.

Sa grocery, pumila sa cashier. Nakitang walang nakapila sa cashier para sa senior citizens. Tinawag ng cashier para lumipat.

As soon as nagsimulang ilagay ang mga pinamili sa counter ay may pumilang matanda. Sabi ko sa kanya, mauna na siya at ako’y lumipat lang dahil wala namang nakapila.

Sabi ba naman sa akin, “Okay lang, mauna ka na. Mukha ka namang matanda, eh.” 😂
