The House of Representatives under the leadership of Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez today approved on third and final reading six (6) bills of national significane that are attuned with its commitment to craft meaningful and relevant pieces of legislation that will truly benefit more Filipinos.
House Bill No. 8568 aims to strengthen the response of local government units (LGUs) in the implementation of “Arbor Day Act of 2012” by putting under their jurisdiction the task of identifying suitable areas for planting of various species of trees and plants, including bamboo.
The Bill also includes ancestral domain among the areas to be covered by tree planting activities.
HB No. 8505 aims to ensure the continuity of the mandates and services of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) by extending its term for another 50 years.
HB No. 8503 seeks to declare the month of June in every year as the “Marine Turtle Conservation and Protection Month.”
HB No. 8497 aims to promote inclusive education among 4Ps adult beneficiaries through alternative learning system, entrepreneurship training, and employment training to achieve sustainable development.
Under the measure, each 4Ps adult beneficiary of the adult education program shall be provided a Community Mobilization Grant (CMG) of not lower than 500 pesos. The CMG cash grant shall be used to finance meals and transportation related to the availment of the adult education program.
HB No. 7447 seeks to strengthen the local health boards by including as one of its members the duly elected president of the Provincial Federation of Barangay Health Workers. It also imposes to the local health boards the task of proposing incentives or benefits of Barangay Health Workers and recommendations on other matters requiring expenditures of local funds on health matters.
HB No. 8400 or the proposed “Trabaho sa Pilipino Act” seeks to establish a Job Creation Plan which shall align national investments and incentives to the solutions aimed at easing the challenges in the labor market, thereby accelerating economic growth and development.
