"Winning isn’t everything; it’s the journey, the learning, and the experiences along the way that truly define us as athletes."
- Taufik Hidayat
On the 25th of October, our athletes of Saint Vincent Ferrer Academy Inc. have set out their rackets, put on their shoes, and warmed up, prepared to play badminton to the best of their abilities. They are ready to smash, rally, and give it their all at every point ; they are passionate in regards to the game and have a determined look in their eyes.
A number of our school's top athletes have competed on the district meet, Precious Crystel Cavosora, Marlie Faye Donayre, Lian Kris Tia, Cheska Althea Bergula, Dan Llynu Ian Sultan, Anton Dacullo, Jake Baldomar, and Jon Wilfred Tia!
Paving the path, Cavosora have shown her determination and won the first game, she stood up proud by winning a game for the team.
After the great match, Cavosora was followed by Donayre, Donayre, entering the court with determination and a fierce aura. An intense game ensues as both athletes thrive for the win. During the game, Donayre already felt the exhaustion, but still played the game well, unfortunately the opponent aimed to win the game, leading to Donayre's loss.
Tia, Bergula, Sultan, and Dacullo have continued playing their games, all of them were firm about winning their games, playing with backbreaking work and determination. In spite of their hardwork, they still have lost but have accepted their defeat.
Baldomar and Tia entered the court with their heads up high and full of willpower. Baldomar and Tia enjoyed playing their game and focused on winning it. Despite the tiredness they have felt, it still ended in a great win.
"Badminton is not only about winning. What is important to me is about playing hard, doing my best and putting up a good show for the spectators."
- Lin Dan
