โข Location of Center (10:00 AM)
The center of Tropical Depression ADA was estimated based on all available data at 635 km East of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur (8.2ยฐN, 132.1ยฐE).
โข Intensity
Maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 55 km/h, and central pressure of 1004 hPa
โข Present Movement
Northwestward at 35 km/h
โข Extent of Tropical Cyclone Winds
Strong winds extend outwards up to 500 km from the center

Heavy Rainfall Outlook
Refer to Weather Advisory No. 1 issued at 11:00 AM today for the heavy rainfall outlook due to Tropical Cyclone ADA.
Severe Winds
The wind signals warn the public of the general wind threat over an area due to the tropical cyclone. Local winds may be slightly stronger/enhanced in coastal and upland/mountainous areas exposed to winds. Winds are less strong in areas sheltered from the prevailing wind direction.
โข Minimal to minor impacts from strong winds are possible within any of the areas under Wind Signal No. 1.
The highest Wind Signal that may be hoisted throughout the passage of ADA is Wind Signal No. 2.
The Northeast Monsoon and the periphery of ADA will also bring strong to gale-force gusts over the following areas (especially in coastal and upland areas exposed to winds):
โข Today: Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte, Abra, northern and eastern mainland Cagayan, eastern Isabela, eastern Bulacan, Aurora, most of Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, and Sorsogon
โข Tomorrow (15 January): Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte, northern and eastern mainland Cagayan, eastern Isabela, Aurora, most of CALABARZON, Lubang Islands, Marinduque, Romblon, Oriental Mindoro, Cuyo Islands, Bicol Region, and Central Visayas
โข Friday (16 January): Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte, northern and eastern mainland Cagayan, eastern Isabela, Aurora, most of CALABARZON, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Romblon, Marinduque, Bicol Region, most of Visayas, and most of Caraga.
HAZARDS AFFECTING COASTAL WATERS
24-Hour Sea Condition Outlook
Up to rough seas over the following coastal waters:
โข Up to 4.0 m: The seaboards of Ilocos Norte and Camarines Norte; the northern seaboard of Camarines Sur; the northern and eastern seaboards of Catanduanes, Northern Samar, and Siargao-Bucas Grande Islands; the eastern seaboards of Albay, Sorsogon, Eastern Samar, and Dinagat Islands.
โข Up to 3.5 m: The seaboards of Babuyan Islands, Isabela, Aurora, northern mainland Quezon, and Surigao del Sur; the eastern seaboard of mainland Cagayan; the northern and eastern seaboards of Polillo Islands.
โข Up to 3.0 m: The seaboards of Batanes and Ilocos Sur; the eastern seaboard of Davao Oriental; the remaining seaboard of mainland Cagayan.
โข Mariners of small seacrafts, including all types of motorbancas, are advised not to venture out to sea under these conditions, especially if inexperienced or operating ill-equipped vessels.
Up to moderate seas over the following coastal waters:
โข Up to 2.0 m: The eastern seaboard of Davao Occidental; the remaining seaboards of Ilocos Region.
Mariners of motorbancas and similarly sized vessels are advised to take precautionary measures while venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigation under these conditions.
Other coastal waters have wave heights of less than 2.0 m
TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK
โข ADA will move west northwestward to northwestward over the next 3 days. On the forecast track, ADA will pass close or make landfall over Eastern Visayas on Friday (16 January) or Saturday (17 January) early morning. It will then pass close or make landfall over Catanduanes on Saturday or Sunday (18 January). Afterwards, it will turn generally northeastward over the sea East of Luzon.
โข ADA is forecast to reach Tropical Storm category within the next 24 hours. It will continue to gradually intensify over the Philippine Sea.
Considering these developments, the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property. Persons living in areas identified to be highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards are advised to follow evacuation and other instructions from local officials. For heavy rainfall warnings, thunderstorm/rainfall advisories, and other severe weather information specific to your area, please monitor products issued by your local PAGASA Regional Services Division.
