𝗛𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗦 | The Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA) fourth-year students, in partnership with the Bicol University Robredo Institute Students Organization (RISO), organized a seminar themed "Good Governance and Beyond: Key to Effective Governance and Informed Voting," held on December 11, 2024, at the BU College of Science Function Hall.

With the title "J.E.S.S.E. On the Go," which stands for Just, Equitable, Sustainable, Sensitive, and Effective Leadership, the seminar featured insights from Mr. Erwin Jim Seludo, Director of Internal Affairs at Sirang Bicol Coalition of Youth Leaders. It addressed key issues such as combating fake news, becoming informed voters, and fostering leadership skills to inspire change.

The talk highlighted the importance of inclusivity and staying connected to reality. Inclusivity involves active engagement, and engagement entails participation, which can be demonstrated through wise and informed voting during elections. Additionally, it emphasized that being informed voters and active citizens is not just a responsibility but an opportunity to redefine Filipino identity and contribute to shaping a better Philippines.

In a promotional message, Dr. Rosemarie TY-Frias, Ph.D., said that "youth is not the hope of the future but the hope of today" leaving a powerful reminder that making a difference starts now.

The "Tsinelas Leadership" seminar, hosted by BU Jesse M. Robredo Institute of Governance and Development's third-year Public Administration students, is currently exploring the impact of diversity on inclusivity, effective leadership, and sustainable development.

Dr. Flored Jay N. Medina, the second speaker, began his presentation at 10:30 a.m. at the BU College of Education, CTE Hall. Dr. Medina is presenting his insights on how embracing diverse perspectives can lead to more equitable and thriving communities. His presentation, a key element of the "Tsinelas Leadership" theme, emphasizes the importance of relatable and accessible leadership styles.

The seminar is fostering a valuable dialogue on these critical issues, aiming to inspire a more just and sustainable future.

This is followed by the introduction of the first keynote speaker of the event, Atty Ma. Lovella Castro, the Chief of the Management Services Division of the Department of Environment and National Resources - Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office, Albay.

Registration started from 8:00 AM, with attendees arriving from 7:00 AM, all eager to learn despite the power interruption affecting the venue.

𝗛𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗦 | 1PASRS Highlights Empowerment, Integrity, and Transparent Governance

The afternoon session of the Public Administration Students’ Regional Summit (PASRS) began at around 1:00 PM, starting with a song performance by Mr. John Aaron A. Azurin. The first speaker, Mr. John Roniel Canimo, MPA, emphasized the importance of empowering public administrators and pursuing professional aspirations with perseverance. He concluded at 1:57 PM, highlighting the value of unwavering integrity in ethical public service.

The second speaker, Atty. Earl Guen Padayao, delivered a compelling presentation on the role of public administration in establishing transparent and accountable governance in the digital age. He provided insights into addressing challenges and opportunities in the evolving landscape, concluding his talk at exactly 3:21 PM.

The event then featured games and breakout sessions, including a quiz bee, debates, and an essay-writing competition, where participants showcased their knowledge, creativity, and critical thinking. These activities reinforced the summit's themes of empowerment, integrity, and collaboration.

The afternoon session concluded with a call to action: empowered public administrators committed to integrity and transparency are essential for shaping a brighter future in public service, especially in the digital era.

Earl Guen Quiñones Padayao, J.D., is now delivering their insightful talk, “The Pillar of Public Administration in Fostering Transparent and Accountable Governance Amidst the Digital Era,” at the 1st Public Administration Students’ Regional Summit (1PASRS). Atty. Padayao, a brilliant legal mind and passionate advocate for public service, will shares their expertise on improving transparent governance in the digital age.

The session, which began at 2:03 PM today, December 9, 2024, is hosted via Zoom Conference by the 4th-year Bachelor of Public Administration students of Bicol University - Jesse M. 𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗡𝗢𝗪 | The afternoon session of the 1st Public Administration Students’ Regional Summit (1PASRS) started at around 1 PM with the first speaker, Mr. John Roniel A. Canimo, MPA. He aims to discuss topics within the bounds of discovering the role and importance of public administration.

The Regional Summit is hosted by the 4th year students of Bachelor of Public Administration in BU Jesse M. Robredo Insitute of Governance and Development, today, December 9, 2024, via Zoom Conference. It aims to discuss and offer significant information that will have notable contributions to all of the participants, especially for the students of JMRIGD, our very own 𝘓𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘬𝘰𝘥 𝘣𝘢𝘺𝘢𝘯𝘴

𝗛𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗦 | The Future Lingkod Bayan conducts the first-ever Public Administration Regional Summit

The 1st Public Administration Students’ Regional Summit (1PASRS) started at exactly 9:40 in the morning with inspirational messages from Dr. Ma. Julieta B. Borres, the Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Noemi Lobrigo-Ibo, the Director of Jesse M. Robredo Institute of Governance and Development and; Dr. Flored Jay Medina, the Subject Professor of 4th year BPA students, followed by the Welcome Remarks from Dr. Baby Boy Benjamin D. Nebres, the SUC President IV of Bicol University—emphasized the importance of Youth engagement in the governance and in society.

The summit continued with a message from Atty. Jose Manuel “Chel” Diokno as the keynote speaker of the said summit. After the inspirational message of Atty. Diokno, the organizers had a fun activity where delegates participated in the raffle draw.

The summit took a more serious time as the discussion started with the first guest speaker, Mx. Val Anghelito R. Llamelo, with the topic “Inclusive Governance in Local Communities: Empowering Marginalized Sectors through Participatory Budgeting”. Mx. Val emphasized the engagement of youth in decision making and empowering the Women and LGBTQIA+ communities.

The Regional Summit concluded the morning session at exactly 11:51AM and will resume at 12:45PM.

𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗡𝗢𝗪 | The 1st Public Administration Students’ Regional Summit (1PASRS) with a theme, “Tubo’t Paglago: Ang Pag-usbong ng Bicolanong Administrador ng Bayan” was hosted by the 4th year Bachelor of Public Administration students of Bicol University - Jesse M. Robredo Institute of Governance and Development, December 9, 2024 that commenced at exactly 9:40 AM via Zoom Conference.

The Regional Summit aims to provide a platform for every college and university that offers public administration program to have critical and engaging discussions on the future of government.
