Sa Pinas ang konti na rin ng mga nagpepedia. Marami sa mga training hospitals ngayon kulang kulang na sa pedia residents... iyong iba nga ni isa wala. Please be kind to those of us who chose pediatrics.

Pediatric specialties filled 77.5% of certified positions offered (1,530 of 1,975) in the 2024 Medicine and Pediatric Specialties Match, a decrease of 1.7% compared to last year. The number of positions filled and offered, however, increased slightly over last year’s numbers.

Dr. Jesse Hackell, chair of the AAP Committee on Pediatric Workforce, says lower salaries for pediatricians and lower payments for the large number of children covered by Medicaid likely contribute to fewer choosing pediatrics. “This is reflective of what we’re seeing overall in the house of pediatrics — the nonprocedural subspecialties don’t offer enough compensation to be really attractive to people who have other things, like debt, to consider. Unfortunately, it comes down in a large part to money. 🤓You have to make them understand na may mga places na hindi puwedeng sobrang ingay. ex. clinics, hospitals

🤔"Hindi ba dapat expected nang maingay ang pedia clinic? "
🤓It is expected to be a bit noisier than other clinics pero may point na hindi na acceptable. ex. habulan with screeching is not fine
🤓May mga may migraine na matitrigger ng sobrang ingay. May mga babies na magigising. May mga masama ang pakiramdam na lalong sasama ang pakiramdam. Be mindful of others.

Now you know na tinuturo pala ang quiet play. Hindi puwedeng lagi na lang "bata iyan e". Your kids will never learn if in the first place tinatanggap niyo lang lahat ng ginagawa nila.

Magdala ng mga bagay na magagawa ng bata quietly. Majority ng pedia clinics ngayon ay maliliit at shared so hindi kami makakapaglagay ng maraming bagay.

answer: Yes, it is generally safe.

❤️mas maagang protected ang bata eh di mas safe siya mula sa mga sakit... kung hiwa hiwalay ibibigay ang mga bakuna, obviously mas late matatapos
❤️karamihan patay na ang mga germs na laman ng mga bakuna (and some pinahina) so walang sense ang worry na "hindi kayanin ng bata"... aba may problema ang bata sa immune system niya kung hindi niya kaya yan kaya ginagawa ko ang vaccine screening questionnaire bago mag-inject

❤️☠️Yes, it is true na ang flu vaccine kapag binigay on the same day as pneumococcal or 5-in-1 o 6-in-1 ay may small risk ng seizure dahil sa lagnat sa at risk na age group. However, walang long-term na effect ang ganitong klase ng seizure at maliit naman ang chance so gusto ni CDC ituloy pa rin ang bakuna. Sa schedule abroad nagtatama kasi ang sched ng flu nila sa ibang vaccines. Dito sa Pinas mas maaga nating binibigay ang 6-in-1 so kung sinunod niyo ang tamang sched na 6,10,14 weeks eh di hindi iyon tatama sa sched ng flu na 6 months binibigay!!!

☠️kung hiwa hiwalay ibibigay ang mga bakuna:
- mas maraming visits sa clinic... mas maraming beses ilalabas ang baby mas posibleng magkagerms habang nasa daan
☠️Ano ang mas nakakatakot? sampung punta na lahat iinjectionan ka o 4 punta na injection tapos anim na check up lang? Got it? Kahit paisa isang tusok lang yan kung bawat punta naman ganun asahan niyo yan matatakot na ang batang pumunta sa clinic...

🤔Eh paano kung limited lang ang budget?

answer: Safety po ang issue ng post hindi financial. Siyempre inaadjust adjust din ang guidelines base sa sitwasyon ng bawat pasyente. Siyempre mas okay nang paisa isang makumpleto ang mga bakuna kaysa naman maghihintay tayo ng ilang years para kumpletuhin niyo ang budget para sa sabayang pagbabakuna. Kung may bakunang pasok na sa budget, then go patusok na.

"Dahil Absent Ang Pedia Namin" ❌

🤓Ang reason for consultation ay major signs or symptoms na dahilan kung bakit naisipan mong dalhin ang bata. The answer is never "dahil absent ang pedia namin". Ang sagot na iyan ay walang useful info na nabibigay and even medyo offensive.

😮Kung tinanong ka ng what is your order sa mcdo, sasagot ka ba ng "I'm here lang kasi ubos na ang chicken thigh sa jobee."?
😮Kung tinanong ka ng "anong gupit" sa parlor, sasagot ka ba ng "wala iyong naggugipit sakin"?

👨🏻‍⚕️When asked kung ano ang concerns or ano ang ipapacheck up, ang sagot ay symptoms and never "dahil absent ang regular pedia namin".

🧑🏻‍⚕️🤓What is best for child A may be very bad for child B. Huwag apply nang apply ng nababasa without making sure na may sense iyan gawin sa anak niyo.

🖤Mostly middle class families naman ang handle ko pero ang taas ng malnutrition rate na nakikita ko recently. Maraming factors pero focus tayo sa wrong application of nutritional recommendations.

ex. child X not feeding well not gaining weight properly
+ shifted pa to full cream milk without fortification kasi tipid tip daw nabasa somewhere
+ no vitamins kasi sabi ng kumare hindi naman kailangan kasi wala namang vitamins mga anak niya
= ending palala nang palalang malnutrition

👨🏻‍⚕If hindi kayo sure kung applicable sa anak niyo ang nabasa somewhere, please consult your pediatrician or at least man lang research well and read read read. Maawa kayo sa bata.
👨🏻‍⚕Kaalaman alone is not enough. Knowing when to apply them is super important din po.

Kapag nagpalista sa clinic, SIT DOWN AND WAIT. If gusto niyo muna umikot sa mall, leave 1 person para mag-abang to know kung malapit na matawag ang patient.

Buti sana kung ifaflash lang name niyo sa screen e hindi naman ganun...

1. tatawagin name ng bata
2. tatawagin ulit with louder voice
3. call next patient/s
4. tatawagin na naman kayo
5. ibibigay sa nurses ang chart niyo and sila naman ang magtatawag
6. tapos chill na chill kayong darating expecting na kayo agad ang titingnan
