| The Marcos administration is rallying support for the Philippine International Exhibition Center (PIEC), urging the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) to allocate ₱18 billion for its construction within the vibrant Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) complex.

Championed by First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, this initiative aims to elevate the country's prominence in the global Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions (MICE) landscape.

Noteworthy architect William Ti Jr., celebrated for his transformative projects, envisions PIEC as the ASEAN region's largest MICE exhibition building.

Spanning 10 hectares, this architectural gem will be nestled within a Central Park, reminiscent of Washington D.C.’s iconic National Mall.Collaborating with the BSP, the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) is slated to manage PIEC's operations, ensuring a seamless and world-class experience.

The ambitious 18-month construction timeline is set to culminate ahead of the 2026 ASEAN Summit, showcasing the Philippines on the global stage.

Under the direction of First Lady Araneta-Marcos, the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) is poised to rejuvenate its HallOne Design for Exports through PIEC, breathing new life into showcasing Philippine products.

Plans also include the potential transformation of the Folk Arts Theater into an exhibition hall, pending a safety assessment.

With an eye on comprehensive redevelopment, Government Service Insurance System President Wick Veloso suggests repurposing the Gloria Maris site, among other strategic enhancements within the CCP Complex.

This holistic approach, including upgrades to the PICC and additional hotel facilities, promises to reshape the 88-hectare complex along Roxas Boulevard, fostering economic growth and bolstering the country's international standing.

Anticipating a positive impact on trade, tourism, and cultural exchange, the PIEC project is met with optimism and enthusiasm from various quarters.
