Harayaflix is a Filipino subscription-based streaming service that allows our members-subscribers to watch Pinoy (and some Asian) movies, short films, documentaries, web series and animations made by local filmmakers based on regional narratives and local realities with high quality output, high value stories and outstanding cinematography on an internet-connected device. ix operates the over-the-top curated and selected subscription original films and commissioned or acquired, and third-party content licensed from other distributors. Our streaming platform is named after an ancient Tagalog term “hiraya” – “haraya” the Visayan version, that means "fruit of one's hopes, dreams, and aspirations" or a deeper meaning of the word "sana" or hopefully. Our aim is to bring you a virtual experience through locally made films that instills hope, peace, education, friendship, family, courage, love of country, entertainment, fun among others. Our platform will also anchor on the other meaning of Haraya, which is “imagination” – valuing the Filipino creative imagination that pervades our entire existence. It leads to elaborate theories, dreams and inventions in any profession from the realms of academia to films. We believe that in our imagination is the key to innovation envisaging how we could educate our children and how we would entertain ourselves through films. Harayaflix will also become a platform for local filmmakers, specially from Mindanao to exhibit and showcase their creative outputs and cinematic masterpieces, while harnessing their storytelling, depicting and exploring local realities, that at the end will engage and shape the human senses and emotions, memory and imagination. Harayaflix will also aspire to separate contents into “adults” and “children” with a variety of choices that could reach a wider audience, to inform and inspire change through engaging audiences and reflecting society. This content selection is geared towards entertainment, education, persuasion, positive values, changing motivation and opinions. The messages conveyed through these films are retained better due to its reality element and through classification and curation. Films that address topics that children study in school are just as effective as other teaching materials. They see the world from another perspective and provide teachers with a new tool to enrich their lessons. Integrating and using films in the classroom stimulate young children's imagination and artistic awareness.
