Ginaprubahan na ni President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang prankisa para sa Negros Electric and Power Corporation (NEPC) agud ma manage kag ma operate ang electricity distribution system sa Central Negros, nga naga garantiya sang tayuyon kag masaligan nga electricity supply sa franchise area.

Ginpirmahan sang Presidente ang Republic Act Number 12011 sang Hulyo 26, 2024 isa ka adlaw antes ini mag lapse into law.

Mangin epektibo ang ini nga layi 15 diyas matapos ang publication sa Official Gazette ukon bisan ano nga newspaper nga may general circulation.

Nag-ugat ag hagna sa House of Representatives matapos ginpasa ni Negrense Representative Stephen Paduano, Jose Francisco Benitez, Juliet Marie Ferrer kag Greg Gasataya.

Gin-aprubahan ini sa Lower House sang Pebrero 21, 2023 kag gin amyendahan sang Senado sang Mayo 20, 2024 kag gin concur sang House of Representatives sang May 22 antes ini ginpasa sa talatapan sang Presidente.

NEPC, ukon mas kilala sa Negros Power, isa ka joint venture company sa tunga sang Primelectric Holdings Inc. (PHI) kag Central Negros Electric Cooperative (CENECO) nga gin-establisar agud mapasangkad ang power distribution kag customer service sang masobra sa 220,000 ka active accounts sa syudad sang Bacolod, Talisay, Silar kag banwa sang Murcia kag Don Salvador Benedicto.

Nakapagkit man sa agreement nga iga acquire sang PHI ang tanan nga power distribution assets sang CENECO nga ginabulubanta nagabalor sang 2 Billion Pesos, may 70% in cash kag ang nabilin nga 30% amu ang share sang CENECO sa NEPC.

Gin endorse sang National Electrification Administration (NEA) ang decision sang CENECO samtang gina hatagan sang prioridad ang loan repayments, employee retirement kag separation benefits nga naka outline sa ila Collective Bargaining Agreements.

Ginkumpirma sang Negros Power ang employement sang kapin sa 200 ka mga CENECO employees.

Nag-ugyon ang Negros Power kag MORE Power sa CENECO agud masuguran ang preventive maintenance activities kag mag responde sa tanan nga trouble calls sang mga konsumidor.
Ginhanda man sang Negros Power ang ila opisina, mga materyales, kag mga kagamitan sa ginapaabot nga pagsugod sang operasyon sa maabot nga Agosto, ini agud masiguro ang maayo nga transition.

Nagpabutyag sang pagpasalamat si Negros Power President and CEO Roel Castro sa Presidente, sa mga legislator, konsumidor kag local leaders, kag iya gina pasalig ang dedikasyon sang kumpaniya sap ag improve sang electric service kag pagtuman sa mga pasalig sini sa mga konsumidor.

"We are grateful that our leaders and everyone are supporting this initiative to improve electric service for consumers. We now have the law, it's time to walk the talk, and we are ready to serve and fulfill our promises to the consumers of Central Negros," pahayag ni Castro.

Nag-allocate sang inisyal nga kapital nga Two Billion pesos ang Negros Power para sa five-year plan nga ma rehabilitate, ma modernize ang infratsruktura agud ma establisar ang mas mabakod nga distribution system.

Ginpasalig man ni Castro ang padayon nga pagsuporta kag kolaborasyon para mabuhinan ang unscheduled power outages.

"We seek your continued support and cooperation as we commence the five-year journey of continuous rehabilitation to enhance the system and minimize instances of unscheduled power interruptions." Dugang pa sini.

Masunod nga tikang sang Negros Power amu ang pag-apply para sa certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN) gikan sa Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) agud masuguran ang operasyon.
