10ID's First Female Agila Patrol Challenge
The 10th Infantry (Agila) Division successfully organized the 1st Female Agila Patrol (AGPAT) Challenge for the calendar year 2024 at the 10th Division Training School in Mawab, Davao De Oro, from July 03 to July 06, 2024.
A total of 14 female Infantry Squads from organic and operational control infantry battalions of the 10ID took part in the four-day event, with each battalion sending one infantry squad.
The competition encompassed various activities including Troop Leading Procedure, Mountain Operation Search and Rescue (MOSAR), Tactical Combat Casualty Care, Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Detection, Knot Tying, Endurance Firing for both pistol and rifle, Battle Drills, Map Reading, Land Navigation, Patrol Base Operation, Observe Fire Procedure/Signal Communication practical scenarios, Military Operation on Urbanized Terrain (MOUT), and other military skill sets.
The 72nd Infantry (GABAY) Battalion emerged as the champion of the event, with the 39th Infantry (Smash 'Em) Battalion and the 73rd Infantry (Neutralizer) Battalion securing the 1st and 2nd Runner-up positions, respectively.
The objective of this competition is to enhance the combat-readiness of female soldiers by testing their endurance and teamwork.
"The 1st Female Agila Patrol Challenge of the 10th Infantry (AGILA) Division, Philippine Army, aims to support and empower all female soldiers within our ranks by promoting gender inclusivity and equality. This initiative not only improves the capabilities of our armed forces but also fosters a more just and equitable society for all. These courageous women have undergone rigorous training and preparation to hone their skills, pushing their limits. Their hard work has paid off as they have demonstrated their determination, resilience, and unwavering teamwork throughout this competition," stated Major General Allan Hambala, the 10ID commander, in a speech delivered by Brigadier General Febie Lamerez, the 10ID Assistant Division Commander.
