Last November 14-15, 2024, the Federated Supreme Student Government (FSSG) successfully conducted its 1st Legislative Assembly and Strategic Planning at the CPSU Alumni Pavilion, Kabankalan City. The event gathered SSG Presidents, Vice Presidents, Senate Presidents, and Speakers of the House from the main campus and extension campuses, including Hinoba-an, Candoni, Cauayan, Ilog, Valladolid, Murcia, Victorias, and Moises Padilla.

The first day of the assembly was dedicated to fostering camaraderie among participants through a "getting-to-know-you" activity. Campus representatives presented their respective calendars of activities, followed by an engaging brainstorming session to generate innovative programs and project proposals. In her opening remarks, FSSG Adviser Ms. Donabel Jane T. Tan set the tone for a collaborative and productive event. Dr. Aubrey Ginelle P. Rallos, OSSA Dean, further emphasized the importance of strategic planning in achieving organizational objectives, urging participants to carry out their duties with peace and purpose. FSSG President Michael Jeorge Polca, alongside Undersecretary Melvin Dela Cruz, skillfully facilitated the day's agenda.

The second day centered on legislative matters. An election for legislative officers took place presided by the FSSG Public Information Officer Valleree Mae Vasquez, followed by a thorough review of the FSSG Constitution and By-Laws, including discussions on potential amendments. Participants also finalized proposed programs and projects for the next semester. By afternoon, representatives from the extension campuses began their departures, bringing with them a sense of accomplishment and unity.

The two-day event highlighted the FSSGโ€™s commitment to effective leadership and strategic collaboration, laying a strong foundation for impactful programs and initiatives across all CPSU campuses.

On November 11, 2024, the 4th Monthly Legislative Assembly convened in Room 4 of CPSU Hinoba-an Campus' New Building. Shine Joy Alegado, the SSG Speaker of the House, led the session, bringing together representatives from diverse campus organizations to discuss key initiatives aimed at fostering a unified, vibrant school year. It was also graced by the presence of the OSSA Coordinator, Mr. Luland Rote, the OSSA practitioners, and advisers of different organizations.

The first point on the agenda was the presentation of each organizationโ€™s school calendarโ€”including SSG, Education Society (EDSOC), Agribusiness Students Society (ABSS), Infotech Society, and ROTC. Meanwhile, Mr. JD Parreรฑo confirmed the participation of CPSU Hinoba-an in the opening ceremony during the upcoming LGU Charter Anniversary on November 20. To ensure smooth operations and reduce scheduling conflicts, attendees emphasized the need for stronger inter-organizational collaboration.

After the calendar presentations, each group shared its accomplishment report, highlighting recent achievements and ongoing projects. Sir Luland Rote, the OSSA coordinator, recommended timely submission of these reports after events to maintain clear records. He also encouraged each organization to include detailed project profiles with defined purposes and objectives. To improve documentation, specific standards were introduced, covering details like photo sizes, evaluation forms, and attendance sheets. Additionally, a meaningful update was made to shift terminology from "tree planting" to "tree growing or adopt a tree," highlighting a commitment to sustained environmental impact.

The assembly concluded with discussions on the much-anticipated Christmas Party 2024, proposed for December 20 or 23, featuring a classic holiday theme. Planned activities include a parol-making contest, a department dance competition, caroling, a cosplay showcase, and a pageant open to CPSU-recognized groups to showcase student talents and creativity. The tentative event plan also includes games, a festive dinner, and the lighting ceremony set for December 2. This assembly marked a significant step in building a collaborative and spirited environment on campus as students and organizations gear up for the holiday season.

Mr. Cambarijan highlighted Hinoba-anโ€™s unique approach to environmental protection and connected it to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals, including "No Poverty" and "Zero Hunger," which focus on building a sustainable and equitable future. His message motivated us, as students, to recognize the environmental challenges we face and to take action for positive change.

The program concluded with closing remarks from Miss Cynthia Marie T. Navarro, who reinforced the importance of unity and commitment in protecting our natural resources. She reminded us that preserving the environment is a collective responsibility that will benefit future generations. This convocation serves as a powerful reminder to all students that the small actions we take today can shape a brighter, greener tomorrow. Together, we can be the generation that restores and sustains our planet for years to come.

๐๐„๐†๐‘๐Ž๐’ ๐ƒ๐€๐˜, celebrated every November 5, honors the successful revolution in Negros Island against Spanish rule in 1898. Known as the ๐๐ž๐ ๐ซ๐จ๐ฌ ๐‘๐ž๐ฏ๐จ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง or ๐‚๐ข๐ง๐œ๐จ ๐๐ž ๐๐จ๐ฏ๐ข๐ž๐ฆ๐›๐ซ๐ž, this day marks the historic event when the people of Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental came together to overthrow Spanish authorities, leading to the islandโ€™s brief independence before joining the Philippine Republic.

The revolution began on November 3, 1898, when leaders from both Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental decided to rise against the Spanish colonial government. They rallied Negrense locals, armed mostly with native weapons and deception tactics, to create the illusion of a heavily-armed rebellion. By November 5, the revolutionary forces had overwhelmed the Spanish forces. With limited resources and against all odds, the Negrenses captured Bacolod, the capital of Negros Occidental, without bloodshed. This led to the surrender of Spanish Governor Isidro de Castro and the declaration of the Republic of Negros, which lasted until it joined the Philippine Republic in 1901.

Negros Day is significant for many reasons. It highlights the bravery, resourcefulness, and unity of the people of Negros in achieving their freedom. The revolution also stands as a reminder of how collective determination and strategic unity can bring about monumental change, even against seemingly insurmountable odds. Today, the celebration serves as a symbol of pride, resilience, and cultural identity for Negrenses and Filipinos as a whole.

Commemorating Negros Day encourages present and future generations to honor our heritage and remember the sacrifices made for freedom. The event fosters unity among us, Negrense, strengthens the connection to our roots, and inspires us to continue building a brighter future ---๐™Ÿ๐™ช๐™จ๐™ฉ ๐™–๐™จ ๐™ค๐™ช๐™ง ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™˜๐™š๐™จ๐™ฉ๐™ค๐™ง๐™จ ๐™š๐™ฃ๐™ซ๐™ž๐™จ๐™ž๐™ค๐™ฃ๐™š๐™™ ๐™ค๐™ซ๐™š๐™ง ๐™– ๐™˜๐™š๐™ฃ๐™ฉ๐™ช๐™ง๐™ฎ ๐™–๐™œ๐™ค.

The Mental Health Symposium for students with the theme "๐™ˆ๐™š๐™ฃ๐™ฉ๐™–๐™ก ๐™ƒ๐™š๐™–๐™ก๐™ฉ๐™ ๐™–๐™ฉ ๐™’๐™ค๐™ง๐™ " held at CPSU Hinoba-an Campus, morning of October 21, was a collaborative and engaging event that brought together students, faculty, and staff to address the importance of mental health in the workplace. The photobooth served as a light-hearted icebreaker, prompting laughter and smiles as individuals posed for creative and memorable photos.
