On November 4, 2024, the Central Philippines State University Hinoba-an Campus celebrated its World Environmental Awareness as the 4th Convocation Program. The event was organized and facilitated by the Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness CPSU Hinoba-an Campus Officers, with the support of the faculty and staff, and was honored by the presence of our special guest, Mr. Jimmy Z. Cambarijan. With the theme, "Our Land, Our Future: We are the Generation of Restoration," highlighted our collective responsibility to protect and restore the environment for future generations.

The program began at 8 AM with the opening remarks of our campus administrator, Mr. Patrocenio Gonzales, who expressed his gratitude to the organizers and attendees. In his message, he emphasized the importance of working together to keep our environment clean and sustainable, inspiring the audience to take small, meaningful actions that could lead to a greener future.

Following this, our guest speaker, Mr. Jimmy Z. Cambarijan, then delivered an inspiring speech that captivated the audience. He shared valuable insights on how the environment sustains us and why we must care for it. Mr. Cambarijan highlighted Hinoba-anโ€™s unique approach to environmental protection and connected it to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals, including "No Poverty" and "Zero Hunger," which focus on building a sustainable and equitable future. His message motivated us, as students, to recognize the environmental challenges we face and to take action for positive change.

The program concluded with closing remarks from Miss Cynthia Marie T. Navarro, who reinforced the importance of unity and commitment in protecting our natural resources. She reminded us that preserving the environment is a collective responsibility that will benefit future generations. This convocation serves as a powerful reminder to all students that the small actions we take today can shape a brighter, greener tomorrow. Together, we can be the generation that restores and sustains our planet for years to come.

๐๐„๐†๐‘๐Ž๐’ ๐ƒ๐€๐˜, celebrated every November 5, honors the successful revolution in Negros Island against Spanish rule in 1898. Known as the ๐๐ž๐ ๐ซ๐จ๐ฌ ๐‘๐ž๐ฏ๐จ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง or ๐‚๐ข๐ง๐œ๐จ ๐๐ž ๐๐จ๐ฏ๐ข๐ž๐ฆ๐›๐ซ๐ž, this day marks the historic event when the people of Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental came together to overthrow Spanish authorities, leading to the islandโ€™s brief independence before joining the Philippine Republic.

The revolution began on November 3, 1898, when leaders from both Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental decided to rise against the Spanish colonial government. They rallied Negrense locals, armed mostly with native weapons and deception tactics, to create the illusion of a heavily-armed rebellion. By November 5, the revolutionary forces had overwhelmed the Spanish forces. With limited resources and against all odds, the Negrenses captured Bacolod, the capital of Negros Occidental, without bloodshed. This led to the surrender of Spanish Governor Isidro de Castro and the declaration of the Republic of Negros, which lasted until it joined the Philippine Republic in 1901.

Negros Day is significant for many reasons. It highlights the bravery, resourcefulness, and unity of the people of Negros in achieving their freedom. The revolution also stands as a reminder of how collective determination and strategic unity can bring about monumental change, even against seemingly insurmountable odds. Today, the celebration serves as a symbol of pride, resilience, and cultural identity for Negrenses and Filipinos as a whole.

Commemorating Negros Day encourages present and future generations to honor our heritage and remember the sacrifices made for freedom. The event fosters unity among us, Negrense, strengthens the connection to our roots, and inspires us to continue building a brighter future ---๐™Ÿ๐™ช๐™จ๐™ฉ ๐™–๐™จ ๐™ค๐™ช๐™ง ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™˜๐™š๐™จ๐™ฉ๐™ค๐™ง๐™จ ๐™š๐™ฃ๐™ซ๐™ž๐™จ๐™ž๐™ค๐™ฃ๐™š๐™™ ๐™ค๐™ซ๐™š๐™ง ๐™– ๐™˜๐™š๐™ฃ๐™ฉ๐™ช๐™ง๐™ฎ ๐™–๐™œ๐™ค.

The Central Philippine State University (CPSU) Hinoba-an Campus held a vibrant Teacher's Day celebration on October 7th, filled with fun, games, and heartfelt recognition for its dedicated faculty. The afternoon event, held on the CPSU grounds, was expertly organized and facilitated by the energetic Education Society (EDSOC) officers.

The celebration was designed to provide a day of joy and entertainment for the teachers. Interactive games sparked laughter and friendly competition, reminding everyone of the importance of lighthearted fun. A touching song dedicated to the teachers served as a heartfelt tribute to their tireless efforts.

The highlight of the afternoon was the "Kalokalike" Contest, a playful twist that brought out the creativity and camaraderie between students and their instructors. Students from various departments showcased their impersonation skills, bringing a wave of amusement and affection to the event.

After that the audience was entertained by an intermission number of the students who came from the BEED and BSAB Department. The program also included the awarding of winners from the English and Filipino categories of the poem writing contest, celebrating the literary prowess of the students.

Also a raffle took place, ten consolation prizes, featuring practical hangers, were awarded to the runner-ups, while the third-place winner received a refreshing clip fan. The second-place winner walked away with a convenient multi-cooker, and the grand champion secured a coveted rice cooker.

Adding a touch of heartfelt gratitude, Mr. Patrocenio, in a poignant speech, expressed his appreciation for the participants of the recent U-Week, highlighting their dedication and enthusiasm. His words resonated with the audience, further emphasizing the spirit of unity and commitment that permeated the campus.

This heartwarming event wouldn't have been possible without the collaborative spirit of the officers from each department, especially the dedicated EDSOC officers. The faculty and staff, the Cenphilians, and the charming hostesses, Ms. Angel Escriba and Ms. Mary Rose Vergino, played integral roles in making this a day filled with joy and gratitude.

On October 07, 2024, the Hinoba-an Campus of the Central Philippine State University (CPSU) celebrated Teacher's Day, themed "The Teachers We Need for the Education We Want: Addressing the Global Teacher Shortage." The event, a vibrant celebration of teachers' invaluable contributions, emphasized the crucial role of educators in shaping the future.

The celebration commenced with an opening prayer and the National Anthem, followed by the CPSU Vision, Mission, Goals, and Objectives (VMGO) and the CPSU Hymn. Mr. Patrocenio L. Gonzales, the Campus Administrator, welcomed the attendees with heartfelt opening remarks, acknowledging the vital role that teachers play in shaping the lives of students.

Next, the atmosphere shifted from reverence to exhilaration as the Education Society (EDSOC) officers presented an inspiring "Dance for All," bringing smiles and energy to every corner of the campus grounds.

Mr. Zaldy H. Reliquias, the guest speaker, delivered a powerful message that resonated deeply with the theme of the day. Recognizing the global teacher shortage and the challenges faced by educators, Mr. Reliquias passionately advocated for supporting our teachers. He highlighted the disheartening reality of skilled teachers seeking better opportunities abroad due to more favorable salaries, emphasizing the need for greater investment in our local education system. Mr. Reliquias shared a moving story about a dedicated teacher, inspiring everyone with the power of perseverance and commitment to education. He emphasized the crucial skills that teachers must possess, highlighting the 4Cs: Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, and Creativity.

The celebration then shifted focus to the individual contributions of teachers from each department. Students expressed their appreciation with carefully crafted handwritten letters, thoughtful gifts, vibrant balloons, and beautiful flowers, creating a heartwarming display of gratitude. The event concluded with the presentation of special awards to deserving teachers, a testament to the excellence and dedication that shines within the CPSU Hinoba-an Campus faculty.

In a world full of superheroes, teachers are the real heroes, yet they often go unnoticed. They truly are heroes in every sense of the word because of their patience, sacrifice, and dedication to their students. With the aim of creating a better future for everyone, teachers pour out endless effort to offer guidance, wisdom, and helping hands to those who are in need. Let us not forget to salute and give tribute to these unsung heroes who shape the viewpoints of our future leaders.
