Heavy Rainfall Outlook Due to Tropical Cyclone MARCE

24 Hours Accumulated Rainfall Forecast

Today (November 8):
• Heavy to Intense (100 – 200 mm)
Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur
• Moderate to Heavy (50 – 100 mm)
La Union, Kalinga, Apayao, and Abra

Forecast rainfall may be higher in mountainous and elevated areas. Moreover, impacts in some areas maybe worsened by significant antecedent rainfall.

The public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property.
PAGASA Regional Services Divisions may issue Heavy Rainfall Warnings, Rainfall/Thunderstorms Advisories, and other severe weather information specific to their areas of responsibility as appropriate.

Unless significant changes occur, the next Weather Advisory will be issued at 11:00 AM today.

REASON/ACTIVITY:

1. IMPLEMENTATION OF IMT NO.1060 CONSTRUCTION OF THREE (3) PHASE LINE TO SERVE MATERIAL RECOVERY FACILITY AT BRGY. POBLACION VALLEHERMOSO.
2. VEGETATION CLEARING ALONG PUAN TO BAGAWINES LINE SECTION.
3. RETIGHTENING OF CUT-OUT TERMINALS AND JUNCTIONS WITHIN THE AFFECTED LINE SECTION.
4. INSTALLATION OF ANTI-TUKO INSULATOR AND OTHER PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE

Thunderstorm Advisory No. 1 - Visayas PRSD

Moderate to heavy (5.5-7.5 liters/meter² per hour) rainshowers with lightning and strong winds due to thunderstorms are expected over
Leyte (Pintuyan, San Ricardo, San Francisco, Liloan); and nearby areas
within 30 minutes to an hour.
The above conditions are being experienced in (Merida); (Pilar); Leyte (Limasawa); which may persist within 1 to 2 hours and may affect nearby areas.

All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides. Keep monitoring for updates.
