LGU-JAS backs Kalbay NHS learners with financial aid
A wave of hope and relief swept across Kalbay National High School as the Municipal Mayor Jason John A. Joyce duly represented by his vice mayor and brother James John A. Joyce personally visited the campus to lead the release of financial assistance for students/ graduating learners receiving priority support to help them prepare for their next academic steps on November 22, 2025 at Kalbay National High School, JAS 2.
The visit highlighted the local government unitโs dedication to uplifting the youth, especially those who face financial hurdles on their educational journey. Graduating students received monetary support meant to assist them with graduation expenses, college preparations, and other academic needs. For many families, this assistance came at a crucial time.
โThis is the plan of our Mayor, we prioritize the education of our students, we, and the councilors and of course our mayor, he prioritizes the budget for scholarship program to support our youth financially for education and better future of our students," said by VM JayTwo.
Alongside the financial aid distribution, the LGU-JAS opened a scholarship program aimed at supporting students who aspire to pursue higher education but lack the financial means. The scholarship will offer tuition assistance, allowances, and opportunities for deserving learners determined to continue their studies beyond high school.
"This was a big support to students who faced financial struggles in their education, this program was the best program of the LGU to encourage every students to study hard, and we hope in return they must prove it that they can so that this great opportunity and had a good purpose to students for their future," Police Captain Tolido, Deputy First Commander Second PFC.
Also present during the disbursement of cash allowance was Municipal Councilor Evelyn Garces Aragoncillo who expressed strong support for the school and students.
Teachers and school officials expressed their gratitude for the initiative, noting that many students from Kalbay National High School come from hardworking families who struggle to sustain educational expenses. The program is expected to significantly reduce the number of students who delay or abandon college due to financial constraints.
For graduating students, the mayorโs presence symbolized encouragement and reassurance that their efforts are seen, supported, and valued.
As the program concluded, students left the school grounds with renewed hope carrying not just financial support, but a stronger belief that their dreams are within reach, backed by a government that truly cares for their future.
