Blue Sharks outlast Pink Gryphons, reign supreme in the Intramurals 2024 MLBB ESports Tournament

Showcasing remarkable skills and strategies, Blue Sharks avoided a titanic meltdown and were able to withstand a last-gasp stand against Pink Gryphons to claim the crown during the Intramurals MLBB ESports Tournament 2024.

Blue Sharks led 4-0 during the round robin ultimately securing a place in the bracket to advance on to the next round. During the semi-finals, they scored 2-0 against the Yellow Hydras with an immensely large kill gap of 33-8 and 32-11 during Game 1 and Game 2, respectively. The win secured the Blue Sharks a dominant lead to step in the finals.

In a nail-biter, Blue Sharks bit down hard against Pink Gryphons during the final round and withstood an impressive 3-2 stand, claiming the crown at Digos City National High School, on Thursday, November 21.

During the last clash of Game 5, Aaron “No Surprises” Alisoso’s Cecilion showered Bat Impacts on the enemy team, killing Pink Gryphons’ EXP and Roam while securing victory.

“We really didn't expect to win given that our scores with the opponent team were only following an up-and-down affair, but we believe that everything that happened had a reason and so we fought down until the final stretch and finished the game.”

The Blue Sharks also added that they were not surprised to keep up with their opponents strategies and play styles as they are already familiar with the opponents’ gameplay as two of them are very well known in the MLBB scene of the school.

Mid laner Dave “Koyl" Reusora took home the finals MVP nod, playing a pivotal role in keeping enemies—Pink Gryphons—at bay. Along with Reusora, Blue Sharks consists of Aaron “No Surprises" Alisoso, John “Still longing for U” Perez, Lucky “YK Rins" Libre, Ivan "A“ Regalado and Rhuel "GILAKKK LEUHR" Tan.

While acknowledging the outstanding performances of the other teams, it is evident that the Blue Sharks have marked their way to championship showcasing their unprecedented strategies and collaboration as they continue to dominate their opponents.

Pink Gryphons secures the second, followed by the Red Pegasus clinching 3rd.

Criticism is an inevitable part of life. Standing in the spotlight, it often felt unrelenting. And standing there, every move is being scrutinized.

In the grandeur stage, stands ten participants for the Mr. and Mrs. Intramurals 2024. The audience are anticipating to who will wear the crown. But their cheers for support goes past the candidates. They must deliver themselves with authentic smiles, regal laughs, and poised behavior. For every action is equate with hostile criticism.

But this majestic occasion goes beyond dazzling gowns, elegant suits, and prestigious crowns. Underly it is the search for a candidate with virtue, empathy, and nobility.

Each candidate – ladies and gentlemen alike have their variables within that made them unique and chosen to be the representatives of their grade level. Yet someone is meant to carry the pride of Digos City National High School (DiCNHS) and conquer the crown.

As 𝗞𝗲𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗮 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗗. 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮 and 𝗫𝘆𝗿𝗲𝘅 𝗔. 𝗦𝗮𝘆𝘀𝗼𝗻 of the grade 10 level are crowned as the Mrs. and Mr. Intramurals respectively, kisses and hugs are exchanged. Their virtue, empathy, and nobility shimmer like no others.

With the crown on their heads, their voices will further inspire young people. A good athlete must have humility, transparency, and speak of the truth. In today’s digital age, Xyrex and Keisha’s wisdom are especially poignant.

The Grade 10 winner’s victory wasn’t just about their eloquence and poise; it was about their ability to inspire and connect. Their triumph reminds us that crowns are not merely ornaments of beauty but symbols of strength, insight, and character.

In them, DiCNHS found a queen and king who embodied these virtues, proving that true beauty lies in how one handles life’s adversities. As the cheers died down, the lessons they imparted remains. The Mr. and Mrs. Intramurals 2024 showed us that the real crown lies not on the head but in the heart—where nobility, strength, and wisdom reign supreme.

The DICNHS Intramurals came alive with an exciting volleyball action as the Grade 10 Blue Sharks delivered back-to-back champions against powerful opponents in Digos City National High School Intramural' Men's Volleyball held at DiCNHS Old Gym, November 21.

The first matchup saw them face off against the Senior High School Pink Gryphons in an intense battle. Both teams showcased exceptional skills and determination, with the Pink Gryphons putting up a strong fight. However, the Blue Sharks maintained their composure and claimed a 2-1 victory.

The Blue Sharks then took on the Red Pegasus in a thrilling match. The Sharks dominated the first set with a 25-19 win, showcasing amazing attacks. In the second set, the Red Pegasus staged a remarkable comeback, narrowly winning 27-25 in a nail-biting finish.With the match tied, the Sharks reassembled and delivered an outstanding performance in the deciding set, cruising to a commanding 25-15 victory.

With the players' camaraderie and resilience, the Blue Sharks volleyball players stood out. While the Pink Gryphons and Red Pegasus also earned praise for their relentless efforts and sportsmanship

Fostering unity, sportsmanship, and excellence among its students, Digos City National High School opened its much-awaited intramurals.

Living up to its theme "Championing Mind, Power, and Health through Unity and Excellence in Sports," the event started with a parade led by Mr. Melvin Anthony Sabio, adviser of the DiCNHS band.

The DiCNHS band led the parade, followed by the grade 7 Green Phoenix, grade 9 Red Pegasus, SHS Pink Gryphon, grade 10 Blue Sharks, and grade 8 Yellow Hydras, encircling the campus.

Ma’am Rachel Pugoy, Assistant Principal of DiCNHS, expressed her pride in the event, saying, "This intramurals united every students in DiCNHS."

Ma’am Pugoy further encouraged students to "love each other, avoid fighting, and show love for each other," highlighting the core values of unity and respect that the school strives to instill.

The second part of the program featured the cheers and yells contest, with each grade level bringing their best performances to the field. The day also honored the most disciplined parade groups, with the Yellow Hydras taking first place, followed by the Blue Sharks and SHS Pink Gryphons.

In the headress competition, the Yellow Hydras once again emerged victorious, followed by the Blue Sharks in second place. The cheers and yells competition crowned SHS Pink Gryphons as the champions, with the Blue Sharks and Yellow Hydras securing second and third places, respectively.

The DiCNHS intramurals is set to be a three- day long event, starting from November 21 to November 23, 2024. Different booths are open inside the school, with various events to be hold different areas in the city.

In a vibrant celebration of dedication and service, Digos City National High School honored its hardworking educators on Teachers' Day with a series of activities aimed at recognizing their invaluable contributions to the school and the community.

Held at the school covered court , the event kicked off with a special program filled with student performances, heartfelt messages from school officials, and a recognition ceremony.

The highlight of the day was an emotional tribute video showcasing students' appreciation and gratitude for their teachers, followed by a presentation by the teachers themselves, which brought laughter and joy to the audience.

Educating minds. Building characters. Uplifting hearts.

It has always been acknowledged that a teacher's role is a noble one, as being able to do all of those things is not a simple feat. Each and every single one of us is a product of teaching, including our nation's president.

A teacher's work is not just to educate minds, but to also build character. But to build character, one has to uplift hearts first, to connect emotionally, and inspire individuals to bring out the best in themselves.

Every teacher has their own individuality and brings out their distinct teaching style to the classroom. Certain teachers are strict disciplinarians whereas others are compassionate listeners, while there are those who possess both qualities. Regardless of their approach, all teachers share the same goal, to impart and empower students with knowledge.

A teacher's heart holds a wealth of love, patience, and compassion. They are the ones who tirelessly explain concepts, offer a helping hand when necessary, and oftentimes put in extended work beyond school to ensure that every teaching material is organized. They sacrifice their own time and energy to deliver the best possible education that will help students succeed.

Beyond academics, teachers instill values such as respect and accountability, encouraging students to act with kindness, courtesy, and responsibility in all that they do. Teachers also create a safe and welcoming space in classrooms, making students feel valued and supported, particularly in cases where the students’ first homes failed to provide that.

Teachers wear multiple hats every day, assuming various roles and responsibilities to ensure that students receive a well-rounded education that not only meets their academic needs but also their emotional needs. Teaching is truly a complex job, it being multiple professions at once; they are owed an immeasurable debt of gratitude.

Teacher’s Day is not just a day to offer flowers and gifts, but a day to express deep appreciation for the selfless works teachers do. It’s no coincidence that the word “teacher” contains “each”. Teachers are there for every one of us and have been a guiding force behind each and every step of our success.

You’ve worn so many hats. While they may not always fit perfectly, your efforts to support us have been invaluable and life-changing. A heartfelt thank you to all teachers!

𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗢𝘄𝗻

In today's generation, many still make mistakes in using the basic "nang" and "ng" and are heavily challenged in speaking the national language, Filipino. Unless patriotism is evoked in every student and the promotion of Filipino is intensified by schools, the value of the language will fade and it will be viewed as a mere school subject.

The Philippines is home to around 170 dialects that are commonly used by Filipinos as their first language or mother tongue. According to a study concerning the factors influencing the level of Filipino language proficiency among secondary students by Nelson R. Tana, students have lesser engagement in conversing in Filipino as they use their mother tongue both in school and at home.

However, it is vital to acknowledge that mastering Filipino is equally important as using one's dialect. It is essential to remember that Filipino establishes solidarity among countrymen as it allows a common means of communication all across the archipelago. It also mirrors the country's deep and intricate history that was weaved by the Filipino ancestors.

Moreover, another challenge in advocating Filipino would be the wide use of English as instruction. Most subjects in school are taught in English to produce globally competent citizens, as stated by an article from Manila Bulletin in August 2021.

If only the curriculum maintains a balance between the two languages, both Filipino and English will equally be practiced by students - enabling an appreciation for global competency and nationalism.

As time progresses, a large number of the Filipino youth grow weary of communicating in their own national language. This calls for a desperate need for change and a sense of patriotism through using the Filipino language. Every Filipino must appreciate and be known for their own, especially that the national language is rooted to the identity, unification, and culture of the Philippines.

𝑯𝒆𝒓𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝑰𝒏 𝑶𝒖𝒓 𝑴𝒊𝒅𝒔𝒕

It’s National Heroes Day once more. A day of solemn commemoration, honoring the sacrifices of those courageous individuals who have fought for the independence and sovereignty of the Philippines. From the consecrated battlegrounds of the past to the struggles of the present day, these heroes have left an unfading mark on our nation’s history.

Everywhere in the country, our national heroes have been commemorated through sculptures and monuments; we have their faces built on bronze and stone, names embedded by marble, and legacy preserved in literature. While we honor and give recognition to well-known figures such Rizal, Bonifacio, and Aguinaldo, beyond their time, our nation today is also blessed with heroes who deserve acknowledgement.

These are ordinary Filipino workers, people we commonly encounter and are all around us, but they are the backbone of the country. The tireless efforts of farmers and fishermen in maintaining food security, along with the dedication of teachers and healthcare workers in shaping the future and ensuring societal well-being serve as a symbol of the tenacity and noble deeds of our past heroes. Them, along with others in various fields and professions are our present-day heroes. Although their hard work and service may go unnoticed, their role is vital in the development and welfare of our country.

In celebration of National Heroes Day, let us not only honor the historical figures who have paved the way for Philippines’ independence but also acknowledge those ordinarily extraordinary heroes who have contributed silently but significantly to the progress and betterment of our nation. To all the Filipino workers, thank you for your service.
