Let us remember that a lamp does not give light to itself. Hindi nagsisindi ng nag-iisa ang lampara. Kailangan may magsindi nito.

John was a shining lamp because his life was deeply connected to Jesus who is the source of all light. Many of us cannot shine brightly because we have disconnected ourselves to Jesus. As a result, we cannot light and lead the paths of others. This is why many of us fail to fulfil our mission to be the lamp to others.

As we make our daily sacrifice from today until christmas, may our lamps shine for others brighter and brighter everyday. Be a lamp to others.
