Former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte / Tatay Digong did not start the war to kill, he started it to save. He gave drug addicts a chance to change, to surrender, to choose a better life. But many refused. They kept using, kept selling, kept killing innocent people. So, what should a leader do? Let criminals destroy families, or take action to stop them?

One addict lost is tragic, but thousands of innocent lives saved that is justice. Duterte made the streets safe. Women could walk home at night without fear. Families could sleep peacefully.

And for those saying innocent people were killed, Duterte never let that slide. He made sure that police officers who killed by mistake were punished, removed from their jobs, and sent to jail. He fought criminals, but he never protected those who abused their power.

Now, look at our country. Duterte is gone, and the drug problem is coming back. Crime is rising again. Ask yourself was he really the problem, or was he the only one brave enough to fix it?

WAKE UP!!

β€œWe had to have a look because maraming nagbago from the budget request of the different departments and we have to put it back in the same shape that we had first requested,” ani Marcos.

β€œWe are going through item by item, line by line, to see what is priority and what is not,” dagdag pa niya.

JUST IN: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., in a media interview Monday (Dec. 16, 2024), vows to scrutinize the 2025 budget amid issues surrounding some of its items.

He says the budget bill will still be signed before Christmas and that the Office of the President is still in the process of reviewing the detailed version of the bill.

On the DepEd budget issue, the President says he will find ways to restore the budget cuts on the education department.

He also justified the zero subsidy for PhilHealth next year, citing the state insurer’s ample reserve funds.

As for the infrastructure spending, Marcos vowed to review infra items in the budget to determine which ones are β€œabsolutely necessary.” | Darryl John Esguerra

The 2025 budget passed by Congress is a blatant attack on the public good, prioritizing patronage politics over essential services. By allocating a staggering β‚±2.8 billion to NTF-ELCAC and β‚±26 billion to AKAP, while providing zero budget for service contracting for transport cooperatives under the Public Transport Modernization Program (PTMP), this budget exposes its skewed priorities.

Transport cooperatives are central to modernizing and improving our public transport system. Yet, instead of supporting their transition, the government has abandoned them, forcing workers to shoulder the costs of compliance. This will cripple their efforts, undermine public mobility, and hurt communities relying on accessible and sustainable transportation.

The paltry funding for transportation pales in comparison to the billions funneled into programs designed to perpetuate patronage politics. This budget is not just short-sightedβ€”it’s one of the worst in history, sacrificing the people’s needs for political gain.

President Marcos Jr. must veto this unjust budget! It is a betrayal of public welfare and sustainable development. We demand a reevaluation to prioritize the real needs of the nation: equitable development, accessible public transportation, and the well-being of all Filipinos. The people will not accept this injustice!
