It is sad to know that he passed away few months after his feeder died. But more heartbreaking to know that despite his story getting viral and gained millions of symphatizers, no one dared to adopt and keep him safe. I wonder, sinalubong kaya sya ni Sir sa rainbow bridge? That would make Buboy so happy for sure!🥹

On this day four years ago, Animal Kingdom Foundation in Capas, Tarlac unveiled the monument of Aspin named Buboy at their Pet Cemetery. It was donated by Themebuilders Philippines, an Angeles City-based company. The said memorial is open to anyone who wants to visit. Although the visitation is free, the AKF welcomes treats and donations for their adopted dogs (and cats).

Buboy was a community dog of the Mabalacat City College (MCC). He was adopted as a puppy by former MCC instructor Eduard Ramos in January 2015. He went viral in 2019 when Carmelito Marcelo, also an MCC instructor, died on 18 May 2019 due to a heart attack. Buboy used to enter Marcelo's class. The two developed a bond because Marcelo regularly fed Buboy. A colleague took a photo of the dog waiting in front of Marcelo's classroom, unaware of what happened to the dog's friend. It was posted on Facebook and touched millions of Filipinos about the loyalty of the dog.

Unfortunately, Buboy died in a car accident along MacArthur Highway on 12 June 2019. The culprit remained at large. Ramos and the MCC Administration buried Buboy in the campus (where the present campus' gymnasium now stands). With the consent of Ramos, the AKF reinterred Buboy the following day in their pet cemetery in Capas.

A 10-page story of Buboy can be read in our book Dogs in Philippine History. Our book also dispelled the popular belief that Buboy was abandoned or a stray. He was not. He was well fed and groomed by his owner, Ramos until the accident. Ramos' office and, in fact, the guard post were his abode. Ramos refused offers to adopt Buboy for the fact that the dog had a home. The entire MCC was his home and the campus community was his family.

Oh, I remember this! I sincerely prayed for Marble when I saw the post that he got lost at the airport. I kept on checking their page for the updates and was so happy when he was found. I also hoped that Elizaldes would still adopt him but I think he is really meant to be with people who would really do anything just to keep him safe. Live your life to the fullest, Marble! We are all rooting for you! Thank you, PAWSsion Project and Ms. Malou for all that you do! God sees you and your pure heart. ♥️

Di madala sa probinsya, ayaw ng landlord sa may mga pet, agressive na alaga- For me, these are some of the UNACCEPTABLE reasons kung bakit pinapa adopt or sinusurender sa dog pounds. I just can't imagine leaving one of your family members behind. Or baka hindi nga kasi kapamilya ang turing nila. Heartless people.

I have a house full of beloved dogs who are treated with love and well taken care of. If I didn’t have too many of them, I would really adopt aspins who deserve the same kind of love my dogs receive. Please, please, if you can, adopt a dog or two from . Aspins are smart, loving and loyal! My one Aspin/rescue dog from Olongapo is now so fat and happy and spoiled - his name, as many of you know, is Pawi-boy. Please open your heart to our Aspins. When you surrender your dog, sometimes this is what they do. They sit there waiting for you to come back. They dont want toys, treats, food, they just want you.

This is one of atleast 50 dogs at the city dog pound that we continue to feed and support. We do not get adoptions so we just could not take in more and more. This is why we advocate for adoption because there are not enough homes for all the dogs and cats around. This is why we advocate for responsible pet parenting.

If you dont want to make a forever commitment to a dog or any animal, please dont even get one.
