Turkiye Alumni Forum 2023 in Istanbul

We are delighted to share an extraordinary experience from the Turkiye Alumni Forum, last January 19–20, 2023, at the Grand Cevahir Hotel in Istanbul. The forum was graced by distinguished Bangsamoro Turkey Alumni, with Chairman Deputy Minister Muhammad Ameen M. Abbas, Vice Chairman Bangsamoro Member of Parliament Suharto Esmael, and Secretary General Datu Abdulshattar Zailon II, who serves as the Chief of the Population Division at the Ministry of Health.

This two-day event provided a valuable opportunity to reconnect with fellow alumni of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) scholarship program, bringing together individuals from diverse nations who had once pursued their studies in Turkey. Notably, the MISA delegation had the privilege of meeting esteemed personalities, including the Turkish Minister of Tourism, the Vice President of Turkey, and other YTB alumni who had previously studied in Turkey.

The forum also featured an enlightening session with the distinguished speaker, Muhammad Deedat, and concluded with a televised interview featuring Datu Abdulshattar Zailon II, emphasizing the importance of our representation on the international stage.

Reception on the Occasion of the 100th Anniversary of the Proclamation of the Republic of Turkiye

As per guidance and directive of Bangsamoro-Turkiye Alumni Association (BTAA) Chairman Muhammad Ameen Abbas, BTAA Vice Chair MP Suharto and Secretary-General Datu Abdulshattar Zailon II attended the grand reception on the occasion of the 100th Anniversary of the Proclamation of the Republic of Turkiye was a momentous occasion attended by prominent figures. The event took place at the prestigious Manila Peninsula Hotel and saw the presence of distinguished guests, including the Philippine Vice President, Sara Duterte, and the Ambassador of Turkiye.

This historic gathering not only signifies a century of shared history and collaboration between Turkiye and the Philippines but also serves as a testament to the enduring relationship between these two nations. The presence of these prominent figures at the event underscores its significance and the strong bonds that bind these countries together. It's a celebration of a hundred years of fruitful cooperation, showcasing the mutual respect and goodwill that have flourished between Turkiye and the Philippines. This event, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkiye, received support from the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities, making it an opportunity for engaging discussions and collaborative ideas among attendees.

On October 16, 2023, The BANGSAMORO-TURKISH ALUMNI INC. (BTAA Inc.) participated in a significant event, the Bangsamoro Rally for our Brothers in Palestine, organized by Bangsamoro Actions Against Injustices (BAAI), which took place at the Cotabato City Plaza from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The event drew an impressive crowd, with over 20,000 participants joining the rally. The primary objective of this rally was to foster unity among the Muslim ummah worldwide and amplify the collective call for the liberation of Palestine.

As the event unfolded, the atmosphere at Cotabato City Plaza was electric with a sense of unity and solidarity. BTAA Inc., along with countless other organizations, played an essential role in contributing to the success of the rally. Representatives and members of BTAA Inc. were seen adorned in striking banners and signs, passionately conveying their support for the Palestinian cause.

Speakers from various organizations, including BTAA Inc., took the stage to address the immense gathering. They emphasized the importance of unity among the Muslim ummah and the urgent need to raise their voices for the liberation of Palestine. The speakers shared heart-wrenching stories of the hardships faced by the Palestinian people and the ongoing struggles for their rights and freedom.

Throughout the event, the plaza resonated with passionate chants, slogans, and heartfelt prayers for the safety and liberation of the Palestinian people. It was a heartening sight to witness people of all ages and backgrounds coming together for a common purpose.

In addition to speeches and chants, there were powerful visual displays, including images of the Palestinian territories and the suffering faced by their people. These visuals served as a poignant reminder of the importance of international support for the cause.

As the sun set over Cotabato City Plaza, the rally concluded with a renewed commitment from the participants to continue supporting the struggle for a free Palestine. The event served as a powerful reminder of the global Muslim ummah's ability to unite and rally for a just and vital cause.

BTAA Inc. left the rally with a sense of accomplishment, knowing that their participation had contributed to the unity of the Muslim ummah and the continued call to free Palestine. The event was a resounding success, demonstrating the unwavering support of the people of BANGSAMORO for their brothers and sisters in Palestine.
